²⁰ There was another man who prophesied in the name of the Lord, Uriah the son of Shemaiah from ^(A)Kiriath-jearim. He prophesied against this city and against this land in words like those of Jeremiah.

² From the day that the ark was lodged at Kiriath-jearim, a long time passed, some twenty years, and all the house of Israel lamented after the Lord.

¹⁷ And the people of Israel set out and reached their cities on the third day. ^(A)Now their cities were Gibeon, Chephirah, Beeroth, and Kiriath-jearim.

²¹ So they sent messengers to the inhabitants of ^(A)Kiriath-jearim, saying, “The Philistines have returned the ark of the Lord. Come down and take it up to you.”

¹⁴ Then the boundary goes in another direction, turning on the ^(A)western side southward from the mountain that lies to the south, opposite Beth-horon, and it ends at Kiriath-baal (^(B)that is, Kiriath-jearim), a city belonging to the people of Judah. This forms the western side.
