^3 (A)“From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even to this day, this is the twenty-third year in which the word of the Lord has come to me; and I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking, ^(B)but you have not listened.

⁵ to heed the words of My servants the prophets ^(A)whom I sent to you, both rising up early and sending them (but you have not heeded),

⁷ For I earnestly exhorted your fathers in the day I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, until this day, ^(A)rising early and exhorting, saying, “Obey My voice.”

^8 (B)In the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had purged the land and the ^[a]temple, he sent ^(C)Shaphan the son of Azaliah, Maaseiah the ^(D)governor of the city, and Joah the son of Joahaz the recorder, to repair the house of the Lord his God.

³ For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was still ^(A)young, he began to ^(B)seek the God of his father David; and in the twelfth year he began ^(C)to purge Judah and Jerusalem ^(D)of the ^[a]high places, the wooden images, the carved images, and the molded images.

² Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. ^(A)Convince, ^(B)rebuke, ^(C)exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
