⁷ I will give them a heart to know^(A) me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people,^(B) and I will be their God, for they will return^(C) to me with all their heart.^(D)

²³ They will no longer defile^(A) themselves with their idols and vile images or with any of their offenses, for I will save them from all their sinful backsliding,^[a](B) and I will cleanse them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.^(C)

²⁴ “‘For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land.^{(A) 25} I will sprinkle^(B) clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse^(C) you from all your impurities^(D) and from all your idols.^{(E) 26} I will give you a new heart^(F) and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone^(G) and give you a heart of flesh.^{(H) 27} And I will put my Spirit^(I) in you and move you to follow my decrees^(J) and be careful to keep my laws.^{(K) 28} Then you will live in the land I gave your ancestors; you will be my people,^(L) and I will be your God.^(M)

⁸ I will bring them back^(A) to live^(B) in Jerusalem; they will be my people,^(C) and I will be faithful and righteous to them as their God.^(D)”

² and when you and your children return^(A) to the Lord your God and obey him with all your heart^(B) and with all your soul according to everything I command you today, ³ then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes^[a](C) and have compassion^(D) on you and gather^(E) you again from all the nations where he scattered^(F) you.^{(G) 4} Even if you have been banished to the most distant land under the heavens,^(H) from there the Lord your God will gather^(I) you and bring you back.^{(J) 5} He will bring^(K) you to the land that belonged to your ancestors, and you will take possession of it. He will make you more prosperous and numerous^(L) than your ancestors. ⁶ The Lord your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants,^(M) so that you may love^(N) him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live.

¹⁷ But thanks be to God^(A) that, though you used to be slaves to sin,^(B) you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching^(C) that has now claimed your allegiance.

¹⁹ I will give them an undivided heart^(A) and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone^(B) and give them a heart of flesh.^{(C) 20} Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.^(D) They will be my people,^(E) and I will be their God.^(F)
