^5 (A)“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous ^(B)Branch, and ^(C)he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. ⁶ In his days Judah will be saved, and ^(D)Israel will ^(E)dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: ^(F)‘The Lord is our righteousness.’

¹⁵ In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous ^(A)Branch to spring up for David, and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. ¹⁶ In those days Judah will be saved, ^(B)and Jerusalem will dwell securely. And this is the name by which it will be called: ^(C)‘The Lord is our righteousness.’

The Righteous Reign of the Branch

¹⁰ In that day ^(O)the root of ^(P)Jesse, who shall stand as ^(Q)a signal for the peoples—of him shall the nations inquire, and his resting place shall be glorious.

³ Now ^(A)Joshua was standing before the angel, ^(B)clothed with filthy garments. ⁴ And the angel said to ^(C)those who were standing before him, ^(D)“Remove the filthy garments from him.” And to him he said, “Behold, ^(E)I have taken your iniquity away from you, and ^(F)I will clothe you with pure vestments.” ⁵ And I said, ^(G)“Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord was standing by.

⁶ And the angel of the Lord solemnly assured ^(H)Joshua, ⁷ “Thus says the Lord of hosts: If you will walk in my ways and ^(I)keep my charge, then you shall ^(J)rule my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you the right of access among ^(K)those who are standing here. ⁸ Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, you and your friends who sit before you, for ^(L)they are men who are a sign: behold, I will bring ^(M)my servant ^(N)the Branch. ⁹ For behold, on ^(O)the stone that I have set before Joshua, on a single stone with ^(P)seven eyes,^[a] I will ^(Q)engrave its inscription, declares the Lord of hosts, and ^(R)I will remove the iniquity of this land in a single day. ¹⁰ In that day, declares the Lord of hosts, every one of you will invite his neighbor to come ^(S)under his vine and under his fig tree.”

¹² And say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, “Behold, the man whose name is ^(A)the Branch: for he shall branch out from his place, and ^(B)he shall build the temple of the Lord. ^13 (C)It is he who shall build the temple of the Lord ^(D)and shall bear royal honor, and shall sit and rule on his throne. And there^[a] shall be a ^(E)priest on his throne, ^(F)and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.”’ ¹⁴ And the crown shall be in the temple of the Lord as ^(G)a reminder to ^(H)Helem,^{[b] (I)}Tobijah, ^(J)Jedaiah, and Hen ^(K)the son of Zephaniah.

^15 (L)“And those who are far off shall come and ^(M)help to build the temple of the Lord. ^(N)And you shall know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you. ^(O)And this shall come to pass, if you will diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God.”
