⁴ I will set up ^(A)shepherds over them who will feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall they be lacking,” says the Lord.

¹⁴ “Return, O backsliding children,” says the Lord; ^(A)“for I am married to you. I will take you, ^(B)one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to ^(C)Zion. ¹⁵ And I will give you ^(D)shepherds according to My heart, who will ^(E)feed you with knowledge and understanding.

^5 (A)who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Jesus Restores Peter

¹⁵ So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of ^[a]Jonah, do you love Me more than these?”

He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I ^[b]love You.”

He said to him, ^(A)“Feed My lambs.”

¹⁶ He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of ^[c]Jonah, do you love Me?”

He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I ^[d]love You.”

^(B)He said to him, “Tend My ^(C)sheep.”

¹⁷ He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of ^[e]Jonah, do you ^[f]love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?”

And he said to Him, “Lord, ^(D)You know all things; You know that I love You.”

Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.

Shepherd the Flock

5 The elders who are among you I exhort, I who am a fellow elder and a ^(A)witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the ^(B)glory that will be revealed: ^2 (C)Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, ^(D)not by compulsion but ^[a]willingly, ^(E)not for dishonest gain but eagerly; ³ nor as ^(F)being ^[b]lords over ^(G)those entrusted to you, but ^(H)being examples to the flock; ⁴ and when ^(I)the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive ^(J)the crown of glory that does not fade away.

^28 (A)Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit ^(B)has made you overseers, to shepherd the church ^[a]of God ^(C)which He purchased ^(D)with His own blood. ²⁹ For I know this, that after my departure ^(E)savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock.

⁹ that the saying might be fulfilled which He spoke, ^(A)“Of those whom You gave Me I have lost none.”

¹² While I was with them ^[a]in the world, ^(A)I kept them in ^[b]Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and ^(B)none of them is ^[c]lost ^(C)except the son of ^[d]perdition, ^(D)that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

^27 (A)My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. ²⁸ And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. ^29 (B)My Father, ^(C)who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. ^30 (D)I and My Father are one.”
