^29 (A)Is not my word like fire, declares the Lord, and ^(B)like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

¹² For ^(A)the word of God is living and ^(B)active, ^(C)sharper than any ^(D)two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and ^(E)discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

The Lord Proclaims Judgment

³² They said to each other, ^(A)“Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he ^(B)opened to us the Scriptures?”

⁴ For the ^(A)weapons of ^(B)our warfare are not of the flesh but have ^(C)divine power ^(D)to destroy strongholds. ⁵ We destroy arguments and ^(E)every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to ^(F)obey Christ,

^63 (A)It is the Spirit who gives life; ^(B)the flesh is no help at all. ^(C)The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

⁵ And if anyone would harm them, ^(A)fire pours from their mouth and consumes their foes. If anyone would harm them, ^(B)this is how he is doomed to be killed.

³ And divided tongues ^(A)as of fire appeared to them and rested^[a] on each one of them.
