²² But if they had stood in my council,
    then they would have proclaimed my words to my people,
and they would have turned them from their evil way
    and from the evil of their doings.^(A)

¹³ Who has directed the spirit of the Lord
    or as his counselor has instructed him?^(A)
14 Whom did he consult for his enlightenment,
    and who taught him the path of justice?

⁷ Surely the Lord God does nothing
    without revealing his secret
    to his servants the prophets.^(A)

¹⁴ The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him,
    and he makes his covenant known to them.^(A)

⁸ Have you listened in the council of God?
    And do you limit wisdom to yourself?^(A)
9 What do you know that we do not know?
    What do you understand that is not clear to us?^(B)
10 The gray-haired and the aged are on our side,
    those older than your father.^(C)
