^18 (A)Let those be put to shame who persecute me,
    but let me not be put to shame;
^(B)let them be dismayed,
    but let me not be dismayed;
^(C)bring upon them the day of disaster;
    destroy them with double destruction!

¹¹ But ^(A)the Lord is with me as a dread warrior;
    therefore my persecutors will stumble;
    ^(B)they will not overcome me.
^(C)They will be greatly shamed,
    for they will not succeed.
Their ^(D)eternal dishonor
    will never be forgotten.

²⁰ But, O Lord of hosts, who judges righteously,
    who ^(A)tests ^(B)the heart and the mind,
^(C)let me see your vengeance upon them,
    for to you have I committed my cause.

^14 (A)Let those be put to shame and disappointed altogether
    who seek to snatch away my life;
let those be ^(B)turned back and brought to dishonor
    who delight in my hurt!

² O my God, in you I ^(A)trust;
    ^(B)let me not be put to shame;
    ^(C)let not my enemies exult over me.
³ Indeed, ^(D)none who wait for you shall be put to shame;
    they shall be ashamed who are ^(E)wantonly ^(F)treacherous.

¹⁷ Let them be ^(A)put to shame and dismayed forever;
    let them perish in disgrace,
¹⁸ that they may ^(B)know that you alone,
    ^(C)whose name is the Lord,
    are ^(D)the Most High over all the earth.

⁸ Let ^(A)destruction come upon him ^(B)when he does not know it!
And let the net that he hid ensnare him;
    let him fall into it—to his destruction!

^6 (A)Pay her back as she herself has paid back others,
    and repay her ^(B)double for her deeds;
    mix a double portion for her ^(C)in the cup she mixed.
