^19 (A)O Lord, my strength and my stronghold,
    ^(B)my refuge in the day of trouble,
^(C)to you shall the nations come
    from the ends of the earth and say:
“Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies,
    ^(D)worthless things in which there is no profit.

¹⁶ But I will sing of your strength;
    I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been to me ^(A)a fortress
    and ^(B)a refuge in ^(C)the day of my distress.

^7 (A)“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
    ^(B)whose trust is the Lord.

⁴ You hold my eyelids open;
    I am so ^(F)troubled that I cannot speak.
⁵ I consider ^(G)the days of old,
    the years long ago.
⁶ I said,^[a] “Let me remember my ^(H)song in the night;
    let me ^(I)meditate in my heart.”
    Then my spirit made a diligent search:
⁷ “Will the Lord ^(J)spurn forever,
    and never again ^(K)be favorable?
⁸ Has his steadfast love forever ceased?
    Are his ^(L)promises at an end for all time?
