¹⁰ Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you ^(A)living water.”

The River of Life

22 Then the angel^[a] showed me ^(A)the river of ^(B)the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb

Rivers of Living Water

^37 (A)On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, ^(B)“If anyone thirsts, let him ^(C)come to me and drink. ³⁸ Whoever believes in me, ^(D)as^[a] the Scripture has said, ^(E)‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of ^(F)living water.’”

¹⁴ but ^(A)whoever drinks of the water that I will give him ^(B)will never be thirsty again.^[a] The water that I will give him will become ^(C)in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

⁶ This they said ^(A)to test him, ^(B)that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground. ⁷ And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, ^(C)“Let him who is without sin among you ^(D)be the first to throw a stone at her.” ⁸ And once more he bent down and wrote on the ground.
