⁴ I will make them abhorrent^(A) to all the kingdoms of the earth^(B) because of what Manasseh^(C) son of Hezekiah king of Judah did in Jerusalem.

⁹ I will make them abhorrent^(A) and an offense to all the kingdoms of the earth, a reproach and a byword,^(B) a curse^[a](C) and an object of ridicule, wherever I banish^(D) them.

³ Surely these things happened to Judah according to the Lord’s command,^(A) in order to remove them from his presence^(B) because of the sins of Manasseh^(C) and all he had done, ⁴ including the shedding of innocent blood.^(D) For he had filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and the Lord was not willing to forgive.^(E)

²⁶ Nevertheless, the Lord did not turn away from the heat of his fierce anger,^(A) which burned against Judah because of all that Manasseh^(B) had done to arouse his anger. ²⁷ So the Lord said, “I will remove^(C) Judah also from my presence^(D) as I removed Israel, and I will reject^(E) Jerusalem, the city I chose, and this temple, about which I said, ‘My Name shall be there.’^[a]”

¹⁶ Moreover, Manasseh also shed so much innocent blood^(A) that he filled Jerusalem from end to end—besides the sin that he had caused Judah^(B) to commit, so that they did evil in the eyes of the Lord.

¹⁷ As for the other events of Manasseh’s reign, and all he did, including the sin he committed, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah?

¹¹ “Manasseh king of Judah has committed these detestable sins. He has done more evil^(A) than the Amorites^(B) who preceded him and has led Judah into sin with his idols.^{(C) 12} Therefore this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I am going to bring such disaster^(D) on Jerusalem and Judah that the ears of everyone who hears of it will tingle.^{(E) 13} I will stretch out over Jerusalem the measuring line used against Samaria and the plumb line^(F) used against the house of Ahab. I will wipe^(G) out Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.

⁴⁶ “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Bring a mob^(A) against them and give them over to terror and plunder.^(B)

²⁵ The Lord will cause you to be defeated^(A) before your enemies. You will come at them from one direction but flee from them in seven,^(B) and you will become a thing of horror^(C) to all the kingdoms on earth.^(D)
