Made them drunk in My fury,
And brought down their strength to the earth.”

Stand up, O Jerusalem,
You who ^(B)have drunk at the hand of the Lord
The cup of His fury;
You have drunk the dregs of the cup of trembling,
And drained it out.

⁸ For ^(A)in the hand of the Lord there is a cup,
And the wine is red;
It is fully mixed, and He pours it out;
Surely its dregs shall all the wicked of the earth
Drain and drink down.

^3 (A)You have shown Your people hard things;
^(B)You have made us drink the wine of ^[a]confusion.

¹⁶ You are filled with shame instead of glory.
You also—drink!
And ^[a]be exposed as uncircumcised!
The cup of the Lord’s right hand will be turned against you,
And utter shame will be on your glory.

^7 (A)Babylon was a golden cup in the Lord’s hand,
That made all the earth drunk.
^(B)The nations drank her wine;
Therefore the nations ^(C)are deranged.

²⁶ I will ^(A)feed those who oppress you with their own flesh,
And they shall be drunk with their own ^(B)blood as with sweet wine.
All flesh ^(C)shall know
That I, the Lord, am your Savior,
And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”
