⁶ Then said I:

¹² And Moses spoke before the Lord, saying, “The children of Israel have not heeded me. How then shall Pharaoh heed me, for ^(A)I am ^[a]of uncircumcised lips?”

¹⁰ Then Moses said to the Lord, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but ^(A)I am slow of speech and ^[a]slow of tongue.”

¹¹ So the Lord said to him, ^(B)“Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the Lord? ¹² Now therefore, go, and I will be ^(C)with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.”

¹³ But he said, “O my Lord, ^(D)please send by the hand of whomever else You may send.”

¹⁴ So ^(E)the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and He said: “Is not Aaron the Levite your ^(F)brother? I know that he can speak well. And look, ^(G)he is also coming out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart. ¹⁵ Now ^(H)you shall speak to him and ^(I)put the words in his mouth. And I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and ^(J)I will teach you what you shall do. ¹⁶ So he shall be your spokesman to the people. And he himself shall be as a mouth for you, and ^(K)you shall be to him as God.

¹⁷ ‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, ^(A)You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. ^(B)There is nothing too ^[a]hard for You.

⁷ Now, O Lord my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a ^(A)little child; I do not know how ^(B)to go out or come in. ⁸ And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You ^(C)have chosen, a great people, ^(D)too numerous to be numbered or counted. ^9 (E)Therefore give to Your servant an ^[a]understanding heart ^(F)to judge Your people, that I may ^(G)discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”

³⁰ But Moses said before the Lord, “Behold, ^(A)I am ^[a]of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh heed me?”

^13 (A)Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, the prophets say to them, ‘You shall not see the sword, nor shall you have famine, but I will give you ^[a]assured ^(B)peace in this place.’ ”

Miraculous Signs for Pharaoh

4 Then Moses answered and said, “But suppose they will not believe me or listen to my voice; suppose they say, ‘The Lord has not appeared to you.’ ”
