12 I will take this remnant of Judah—those who were determined to come here and live in Egypt—and I will consume them. They will fall here in Egypt, killed by war and famine. All will die, from the least to the greatest. They will be an object of damnation, horror, cursing, and mockery.

12 I will take away the remnant(A) of Judah who were determined to go to Egypt to settle there. They will all perish in Egypt; they will fall by the sword or die from famine. From the least to the greatest,(B) they will die by sword or famine.(C) They will become a curse and an object of horror, a curse and an object of reproach.(D)

This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘If you are determined to go to Egypt and live there, 16 the very war and famine you fear will catch up to you, and you will die there. 17 That is the fate awaiting every one of you who insists on going to live in Egypt. Yes, you will die from war, famine, and disease. None of you will escape the disaster I will bring upon you there.’

18 “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Just as my anger and fury have been poured out on the people of Jerusalem, so they will be poured out on you when you enter Egypt. You will be an object of damnation, horror, cursing, and mockery. And you will never see your homeland again.’

15 then hear the word of the Lord,(A) you remnant of Judah. This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: ‘If you are determined to go to Egypt and you do go to settle there, 16 then the sword(B) you fear(C) will overtake you there, and the famine(D) you dread will follow you into Egypt, and there you will die.(E) 17 Indeed, all who are determined to go to Egypt to settle there will die by the sword, famine and plague;(F) not one of them will survive or escape the disaster I will bring on them.’ 18 This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: ‘As my anger and wrath(G) have been poured out on those who lived in Jerusalem,(H) so will my wrath be poured out on you when you go to Egypt. You will only destroy yourselves and make yourselves an object of cursing and mockery for all the nations of the earth.
