38 The second choir proceeded in the opposite direction. I followed them on top of[c] the wall, together with half the people—past the Tower of the Ovens(J) to the Broad Wall,(K) 39 over the Gate of Ephraim,(L) the Jeshanah[d] Gate,(M) the Fish Gate,(N) the Tower of Hananel(O) and the Tower of the Hundred,(P) as far as the Sheep Gate.(Q) At the Gate of the Guard they stopped.

They replied, “Let us start rebuilding.” So they began this good work.
19 But when Sanballat(E) the Horonite, Tobiah the Ammonite official and Geshem(F) the Arab heard about it, they mocked and ridiculed us.(G) “What is this you are doing?” they asked. “Are you rebelling against the king?”
20 I answered them by saying, “The God of heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding,(H) but as for you, you have no share(I) in Jerusalem or any claim or historic right to it.”
Builders of the Wall
3 Eliashib(J) the high priest and his fellow priests went to work and rebuilt(K) the Sheep Gate.(L) They dedicated it and set its doors in place, building as far as the Tower of the Hundred, which they dedicated, and as far as the Tower of Hananel.(M)
