⁵ “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: ‘Like these good figs, so will I ^[a]acknowledge those who are carried away captive from Judah, whom I have sent out of this place for their own good, into the land of the Chaldeans.

¹⁵ Then I came to the captives at Tel Abib, who dwelt by the River Chebar; and ^(A)I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.

¹¹ And go, get to the captives, to the children of your people, and speak to them and tell them, ^(A)‘Thus says the Lord God,’ whether they hear, or whether they refuse.”
