⁹ Don’t grumble about each other, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. For look—the Judge is standing at the door!

⁵ So don’t make judgments about anyone ahead of time—before the Lord returns. For he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. Then God will give to each one whatever praise is due.

Warning against Judging Others

¹¹ Don’t speak evil against each other, dear brothers and sisters.^[a] If you criticize and judge each other, then you are criticizing and judging God’s law. But your job is to obey the law, not to judge whether it applies to you.

³³ In the same way, when you see all these things, you can know his return is very near, right at the door.

⁹ Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay.

⁵ But remember that they will have to face God, who stands ready to judge everyone, both the living and the dead.

²⁶ Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.

⁷ You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”

¹⁴ For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”^[a]
