^17 (A)Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, ^(B)with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

²⁷ John answered and said, ^(A)“A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.

¹¹ If you then, ^(A)being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

⁸ Jesus Christ is ^(A)the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Fellowship with Him and One Another

^5 (A)This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that ^(B)God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

¹² Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, ^(A)“I am the light of the world. He who ^(B)follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

¹⁷ But ^(A)the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, ^(B)without partiality ^(C)and without hypocrisy.

¹³ If you then, being evil, know how to give ^(A)good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
