5 Подир това имаше юдейски празник, и Исус влезе в Ерусалим.
2 А в Ерусалим, близо до овчата порта, се намира къпалня, наречена по еврейски Витесда, която има пет предверия.
3 В тях лежаха множество болни, слепи, куци и изсъхнали, [които чакаха да се раздвижи водата.
4 Защото от време на време ангел слизаше в къпалнята и размътваше водата; а който пръв влизаше след раздвижването на водата оздравяваше от каквато и болест да беше болен].
5 И там имаше един човек болен от тридесет и осем години.
6 Исус, като го видя да лежи, и узна, че от дълго време вече боледувал, каза му: Искаш ли да оздравееш?
7 Болният Му отговори: Господине, нямам човек да ме спусне в къпалнята, когато се раздвижи водата, но докато дойда аз, друг слиза преди мене.
8 Исус му казва: Стани, дигни постелката и си ходи.
9 И на часа човекът оздравя, дигна постелката си, и започна да ходи. А тоя ден беше събота.
10 Затова юдеите казаха на изцеления: Събота е, и не ти е позволено да дигнеш постелката си.
11 Но той им отговори: Онзи, Който ме изцели, Той ми рече: Дигни постелката си и ходи?
12 Попитаха го: Кой човек ти рече: Дигни постелката си и ходи?
13 А изцеленият не знаеше Кой е; защото Исус беше се изплъзнал оттам, тъй като имаше множество народ на това място.
14 По-после Исус го намери в храма и му рече: Ето, ти си здрав; не съгрешавай вече, за да те не сполети нещо по-лошо.
15 Човекът отиде и извести на юдеите, че Исус е, Който го изцели.
16 И затова юдеите гонеха Исуса, защото вършеше тия неща в събота.
17 А Исус им отговори: Отец Ми работи до сега, и Аз работя.
18 Затова юдеите искаха още повече да го убият; защото не само нарушаваше съботата, но и правеше Бога Свой Отец, и така правеше Себе Си равен на Бога.
19 Затова Исус им рече: Истина, истина ви казвам, не може Синът да върши от само Себе Си нищо, освен това, което вижда да върши Отец; понеже каквото върши Той, подобно и Синът го върши.
20 Защото Отец люби Сина, и Му показва все що върши сам; ще Му показва и от тия по-големи работи, за да се чудите вие.
21 Понеже, както Отец възкресява мъртвите и ги съживява, така и Синът съживява, тия които иска.
22 Защото, нито Отец не съди никого, но е дал на Сина да съди всички.
23 за да почитат всички Сина, както почитат Отца. Който не почита Сина, не почита Отца, Който Го е пратил.
24 Истина, истина ви казвам, който слуша Моето учение, и вярва в Този, Който Ме е пратил, има вечен живот, и няма да дойде на съд, но е преминал от смъртта в живота.
25 Истина, истина ви казвам, иде час, и сега е, когато мъртвите ще чуят гласа на Божия Син, и които го чуят ще живеят.
26 Защото, както Отец има живот в Себе Си, също така е дал и на Сина да има живот в Себе Си;
27 и дал Му е власт да извършва съдба, защото е Човешкият Син.
28 Недейте се чуди на това; защото иде час, когато всички, които са в гробовете, ще чуят гласа Му,
29 и ще излязат; ония, които са вършили добро, ще възкръснат за живот, а които са вършили зло, ще възкръснат за осъждане.
30 Аз не мога да върша нищо от Себе Си; съдя както чуя; и съдбата Ми е справедлива, защото не искам Моята воля, но волята на Онзи, Който Ме е пратил.
31 Ако свидетелствувам Аз за Себе Си; свидетелството Ми не е истинно.
32 Друг има, Който свидетелствува за Мене; и зная, че свидетелството, което Той дава за Мене е истинно.
33 Вие пратихте до Иоана; и той засвидетелствува за истината.
34 (Обаче свидетелството, което Аз приемам, не е от човека; но казвам това за да се спасите вие).
35 Той беше светилото, което гореше и светеше; и вие пожелахте да се радвате за малко време на неговото светене.
36 Но Аз имам свидетелство по-голямо от Иоановото; защото делата, които Отец Ми е дал да извърша, самите дела, които върша, свидетелствуват за Мене, че Отец Ме е пратил.
37 И Отец, Който Ме е пратил, Той свидетелствува за Мене. Нито гласа сте Му чули някога, нито образа сте Му видели.
38 И нямате Неговото слово постоянно в себе си, защото не вярвате Този, когото Той е пратил.

41 От човеци слава не приемам;
42 но зная, че вие нямате в себе си любов към Бога.
43 Аз дойдох в името на Отца Си, и не Ме приемате; ако дойде друг в свое име, него ще приемете.
44 Как можете да повярвате вие, които приемате слава един от друг, а не търсите славата, която е от единия Бог.
45 Не мислете, че аз ще ви обвиня пред Отца; има един, който ви обвинява_ 46 Защото, ако вярвахте Моисея, повярвали бихте и Мене; понеже той за мене писа.
47 Но ако не вярвате неговите писания, как ще повярвате Моите думи?

Исус излекува болен при една къпалня
5 После настъпи юдейски празник и Исус отиде в Ерусалим. 2 В Ерусалим до Овчата порта имаше къпалня с пет покрити предверия, наречена на арамейски Витезда.[a] 3 Под колоните на тези предверия лежаха много болни. Едни бяха слепи, други — сакати, а някои — парализирани.[b] 4 [c] 5 Там имаше и един човек, който беше болен от тридесет и осем години. 6 Когато го видя да лежи и разбра, че е болен от толкова дълго време, Исус го попита: „Искаш ли да оздравееш?“
7 Болният отговори: „Господине, няма кой да ми помогне да вляза във водата, когато тя се раздвижи. Всеки път, когато се опитам да стигна пръв, някой друг ме изпреварва.“
8 Тогава Исус му каза: „Стани! Вземи си постелката и ходи.“ 9 В същия миг човекът беше излекуван; взе постелката си и започна да ходи.
Денят, в който се случи това, беше събота. 10 Тогава някои юдеи казаха на излекувания: „Днес е събота, законът не разрешава да носиш постелката си.“
11 А той им отговори: „Човекът, който ме излекува, ми каза: «Вземи си постелката и ходи.»“
12 Юдеите попитаха: „Кой е този, който ти каза да си вземеш постелката и да ходиш?“
13 Но излекуваният не знаеше кой беше той, тъй като там имаше много хора и Исус незабелязано си беше отишъл.
14 По-късно Исус го намери в храма и му каза: „Ето, сега си здрав. Затова престани да съгрешаваш, за да не ти се случи нещо по-лошо.“
15 Човекът се върна при юдеите и им каза, че Исус е този, който го е излекувал.
16 Исус вършеше тези неща в събота и поради тази причина юдеите започнаха да го преследват. 17 Но той им каза: „Моят Баща винаги работи, затова аз също работя.“
18 Този отговор затвърди решението на юдеите да го убият — той не само нарушаваше закона за съботата, но и наричаше Бога свой Баща, приравнявайки се по този начин с Бога!
Властта на Исус е от Бога
19 Но Исус отговори: „Уверявам ви: Синът не може да извърши нищо сам, а само това, което вижда, че прави Отец. Това, което върши Отец, върши и Синът. 20 Отец обича Сина и му показва всичко, което прави. Той ще му покаже още по-велики неща от тези и вие ще се удивлявате. 21 Както Отец възкресява мъртви и им вдъхва живот, така и Синът дава живот на този, на когото пожелае. 22 Отец не съди никого, но е дал пълната власт на Сина да съди, 23 за да могат всички да почитат Сина така, както почитат Отца. Който не почита Сина, не почита Отца, който го е изпратил.
24 Уверявам ви: който чуе думите ми и повярва в Онзи, който ме е изпратил, има вечен живот и няма да бъде съден. Той вече е преминал от смърт към живот. 25 Уверявам ви: идва времето — и то вече е тук — когато мъртвите ще чуят гласа на Божия Син и всички, които го чуят, ще живеят. 26 Както Отец е източникът на живот, така той е направил Сина източник на живот 27 и му е дал власт да съди, защото той е Човешкият Син. 28 Не се учудвайте на това, защото идва времето, когато всички мъртви в гробовете ще чуят неговия глас 29 и ще излязат. Тези, които са вършили добро, ще възкръснат и ще живеят, а тези, които са вършили зло, ще възкръснат и ще бъдат осъдени.
30 Нищо не мога да извърша сам. Съдя само така, както Отец ми казва. Моята присъда е правилна, защото не се опитвам да върша онова, което аз искам, а онова, което Онзи, който ме е изпратил, иска.
Исус продължава да говори на юдейските водачи
31 Ако сам свидетелствам за себе си, свидетелството ми би било недействително. 32 Но има друг, който свидетелства за мен, и зная, че това, което той свидетелства за мен, е истина.
33 Изпратихте хора при Йоан и той потвърди истината. 34 Нямам нужда от човек, който да свидетелства за мен; казвам ви това, за да можете да се спасите. 35 Йоан беше като лампа, която гори и дава светлина, и вие с радост приемахте светлината му за известно време.
36 Но аз имам доказателство за себе си, което е по-силно от това на Йоан, защото делото, което Отец ми е дал да извърша и което върша сега, свидетелства за това, че Отец ме е изпратил. 37 Дори моят Баща, който ме изпрати, свидетелства в моя полза. 41 Не търся похвала от хората. 42 Но аз ви познавам и зная, че в сърцата ви няма любов към Бога! 43 Дойдох в името на моя Баща и въпреки това вие не ме приемате. Но дойде ли някой друг от свое име, него ще приемете! 44 Как можете да повярвате, след като търсите похвала един от друг, а не се стремите да получите похвала от единствения Бог? 45 Не мислете, че аз ще ви обвиня пред Отца. Този, който ви обвинява, е Моисей, в когото сте положили надеждите си. 46 Ако наистина вярвахте на Моисей, щяхте да повярвате и на мен, защото той за мен писа. 47 Но ако не вярвате на това, което той писа, как тогава ще повярвате на това, което аз казвам?“

5 Algún tiempo después, los judíos celebraban una fiesta, y Jesús volvió a Jerusalén. 2 En Jerusalén, cerca de la puerta llamada de las Ovejas, hay un estanque que en hebreo se llama Betzatá. Tiene cinco pórticos, 3 en los cuales se encontraban muchos enfermos, ciegos, cojos y tullidos echados en el suelo. 5 Había entre ellos un hombre que estaba enfermo desde hacía treinta y ocho años. 6 Cuando Jesús lo vio allí acostado y se enteró del mucho tiempo que llevaba así, le preguntó:
—¿Quieres recobrar la salud?
7 El enfermo le contestó:
—Señor, no tengo a nadie que me meta en el estanque cuando se remueve el agua. Cada vez que quiero meterme, otro lo hace primero.
8 Jesús le dijo:
—Levántate, alza tu camilla y anda.
9 En aquel momento el hombre recobró la salud, alzó su camilla y comenzó a andar. Pero como era sábado, 10 los judíos dijeron al que había sido sanado:
—Hoy es sábado; no te está permitido llevar tu camilla.
11 Aquel hombre les contestó:
—El que me devolvió la salud, me dijo: “Alza tu camilla y anda.”
12 Ellos le preguntaron:
—¿Quién es el que te dijo: “Alza tu camilla y anda”?
13 Pero el hombre no sabía quién lo había sanado, porque Jesús había desaparecido entre la mucha gente que había allí. 14 Después Jesús lo encontró en el templo, y le dijo:
—Mira, ahora que ya estás sano, no vuelvas a pecar, para que no te pase algo peor.
15 El hombre se fue y comunicó a los judíos que Jesús era quien le había devuelto la salud. 16 Por eso los judíos perseguían a Jesús, pues hacía estas cosas en sábado. 17 Pero Jesús les dijo:
—Mi Padre siempre ha trabajado, y yo también trabajo.
18 Por esto, los judíos tenían aún más deseos de matarlo, porque no solamente no observaba el mandato sobre el sábado, sino que además se hacía igual a Dios al decir que Dios era su propio Padre.
La autoridad del Hijo de Dios
19 Jesús les dijo: «Les aseguro que el Hijo de Dios no puede hacer nada por su propia cuenta; solamente hace lo que ve hacer al Padre. Todo lo que hace el Padre, también lo hace el Hijo. 20 Pues el Padre ama al Hijo y le muestra todo lo que hace; y le mostrará cosas todavía más grandes, que los dejarán a ustedes asombrados. 21 Porque así como el Padre resucita a los muertos y les da vida, también el Hijo da vida a quienes quiere dársela. 22 Y el Padre no juzga a nadie, sino que le ha dado a su Hijo todo el poder de juzgar, 23 para que todos den al Hijo la misma honra que dan al Padre. El que no honra al Hijo, tampoco honra al Padre, que lo ha enviado.
24 »Les aseguro que quien presta atención a lo que yo digo y cree en el que me envió, tiene vida eterna; y no será condenado, pues ya ha pasado de la muerte a la vida. 25 Les aseguro que viene la hora, y es ahora mismo, cuando los muertos oirán la voz del Hijo de Dios; y los que la oigan, vivirán. 26 Porque así como el Padre tiene vida en sí mismo, así también ha hecho que el Hijo tenga vida en sí mismo, 27 y le ha dado autoridad para juzgar, por cuanto que es el Hijo del hombre. 28 No se admiren de esto, porque va a llegar la hora en que todos los muertos oirán su voz 29 y saldrán de las tumbas. Los que hicieron el bien, resucitarán para tener vida; pero los que hicieron el mal, resucitarán para ser condenados.
Pruebas de la autoridad de Jesús
30 »Yo no puedo hacer nada por mi propia cuenta. Juzgo según el Padre me ordena, y mi juicio es justo, pues no trato de hacer mi voluntad sino la voluntad del Padre, que me ha enviado. 31 Si yo diera testimonio en favor mío, mi testimonio no valdría como prueba. 32 Pero hay otro que da testimonio en favor mío, y me consta que su testimonio sí vale como prueba. 33 Ustedes enviaron a preguntarle a Juan, y él dio testimonio a favor de la verdad. 34 Pero yo no dependo del testimonio de ningún hombre. Sólo digo esto para que ustedes alcancen la salvación. 35 Juan era como una lámpara que ardía y alumbraba, y ustedes quisieron gozar de su luz por un corto tiempo. 36 Pero tengo a mi favor un testimonio más valioso que el de Juan. Lo que yo hago, que es lo que el Padre me encargó que hiciera, comprueba que de veras el Padre me ha enviado. 37 Y también el Padre, que me ha enviado, da testimonio a mi favor, a pesar de que ustedes nunca han oído su voz ni lo han visto, 38 ni dejan que su palabra permanezca en ustedes, porque no creen en aquel que el Padre envió. 39 Ustedes estudian las Escrituras con mucho cuidado, porque esperan encontrar en ellas la vida eterna; sin embargo, aunque las Escrituras dan testimonio de mí, 40 ustedes no quieren venir a mí para tener esa vida.
41 »Yo no acepto gloria que venga de los hombres. 42 Además, los conozco a ustedes y sé que no tienen el amor de Dios. 43 Yo he venido en nombre de mi Padre, y ustedes no me aceptan; en cambio, si viniera otro en nombre propio, a ése lo aceptarían. 44 ¿Cómo pueden creer ustedes, si reciben gloria los unos de los otros y no buscan la gloria que viene del Dios único? 45 No crean que yo los voy a acusar delante de mi Padre; el que los acusa es Moisés mismo, en quien ustedes han puesto su confianza. 46 Porque si ustedes le creyeran a Moisés, también me creerían a mí, porque Moisés escribió acerca de mí. 47 Pero si no creen lo que él escribió, ¿cómo van a creer lo que yo les digo?»

The Healing at the Pool
5 Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish festivals. 2 Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate(A) a pool, which in Aramaic(B) is called Bethesda[a] and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. 3 Here a great number of disabled people used to lie—the blind, the lame, the paralyzed. [4] [b] 5 One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”
7 “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.”
8 Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.”(C) 9 At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.
The day on which this took place was a Sabbath,(D) 10 and so the Jewish leaders(E) said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath; the law forbids you to carry your mat.”(F)
11 But he replied, “The man who made me well said to me, ‘Pick up your mat and walk.’ ”
12 So they asked him, “Who is this fellow who told you to pick it up and walk?”
13 The man who was healed had no idea who it was, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there.
14 Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning(G) or something worse may happen to you.” 15 The man went away and told the Jewish leaders(H) that it was Jesus who had made him well.
The Authority of the Son
16 So, because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jewish leaders began to persecute him. 17 In his defense Jesus said to them, “My Father(I) is always at his work(J) to this very day, and I too am working.” 18 For this reason they tried all the more to kill him;(K) not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.(L)
19 Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself;(M) he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. 20 For the Father loves the Son(N) and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these,(O) so that you will be amazed. 21 For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life,(P) even so the Son gives life(Q) to whom he is pleased to give it. 22 Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son,(R) 23 that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.(S)
24 “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me(T) has eternal life(U) and will not be judged(V) but has crossed over from death to life.(W) 25 Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come(X) when the dead will hear(Y) the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. 26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life(Z) in himself. 27 And he has given him authority to judge(AA) because he is the Son of Man.
28 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming(AB) when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29 and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned.(AC) 30 By myself I can do nothing;(AD) I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just,(AE) for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.(AF)
Testimonies About Jesus
31 “If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true.(AG) 32 There is another who testifies in my favor,(AH) and I know that his testimony about me is true.
33 “You have sent to John and he has testified(AI) to the truth. 34 Not that I accept human testimony;(AJ) but I mention it that you may be saved.(AK) 35 John was a lamp that burned and gave light,(AL) and you chose for a time to enjoy his light.
36 “I have testimony weightier than that of John.(AM) For the works that the Father has given me to finish—the very works that I am doing(AN)—testify that the Father has sent me.(AO) 37 And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me.(AP) You have never heard his voice nor seen his form,(AQ) 38 nor does his word dwell in you,(AR) for you do not believe(AS) the one he sent.(AT) 39 You study[c] the Scriptures(AU) diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life.(AV) These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,(AW) 40 yet you refuse to come to me(AX) to have life.
41 “I do not accept glory from human beings,(AY) 42 but I know you. I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts. 43 I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him. 44 How can you believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God[d]?(AZ)
45 “But do not think I will accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses,(BA) on whom your hopes are set.(BB) 46 If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.(BC) 47 But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?”(BD)

5 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
13 And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.
14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
15 The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.
16 And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.
17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
31 If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
32 There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.
33 Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth.
34 But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved.
35 He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
36 But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.
37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
41 I receive not honour from men.
42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
43 I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?
45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me.
47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
