6 Jezi di yo konsa: Lè pa m' lan poko sonnen. Pou nou, tout lè yo bon.

14 ¶ Te rete kat jou ankò pou fèt la te fini, lè Jezi al nan tanp lan. Li kòmanse pale.
15 Jwif yo pa t' manke sezi. Yo t'ap di: Ki jan nonm sa a fè konnen tout bagay sa yo? Li pa janm al lekòl.
16 Jezi reponn yo: Bagay m'ap moutre nou la a, se pa nan mwen yo soti. Yo soti nan Bondye ki voye m' lan.
17 Si yon moun deside fè sa Bondye vle, la konnen si bagay m'ap moutre yo soti nan Bondye osinon si se pawòl pa m' m'ap pale.
18 Yon moun k'ap pale pawòl pa l', se chache l'ap chache fè lwanj tèt li. Men, moun k'ap travay pou sa sèvi yon lwanj pou moun ki voye l' la, se verite a pou l' di. Pa gen riz nan li.
19 Moyiz te ban nou Lalwa a, pa vre? Men, nou yonn pa obeyi Lalwa. Poukisa n'ap chache touye mwen?
20 Foul moun yo reponn li: Gen lè ou gen yon move lespri sou ou? Ki moun k'ap chache touye ou la a?
21 Jezi reponn yo: Mwen fè yon sèl bagay, epi nou tout nou sezi pou sa!
22 Moyiz ban nou lòd pou nou sikonsi tout ti gason, epi nou dakò pou yo sikonsi yon moun gwo jou repo a. (Men, kite m' di nou: se pa t' Moyiz ki te kòmanse ak sikonsizyon an non, se te zansèt nou yo.)
23 Si nou ka sikonsi yon ti gason jou repo a pou n' ka fè sa Lalwa Moyiz la mande a, pa gen rezon pou n' ankòlè sou mwen si m' geri yon moun ki te malad nan tout kò l', yon jou repo.
24 Pa jije sou laparans. Jije dapre sa ki dwat.
25 Lè sa a, te gen kèk moun Jerizalèm ki t'ap di: Apa nonm y'ap chache touye a?
26 Gade l'ap pale lib devan tout moun, yo pa di l' anyen. Gen lè chèf nou yo rekonèt se Kris la vre li ye!
27 Men, yo toujou di lè Kris la va rive, pesonn p'ap konnen ki bò l' soti. Men nonm sa a, nou konnen ki bò l' soti.
28 Jezi t'ap moutre moun yo anpil bagay nan tanp lan. Li di yo byen fò: Nou rekonèt mwen? Nou konnen ki bò m' soti? Se pa mwen ki fè lide pou m' vini non. Moun ki voye m' lan, li la tout bon. Men, nou pa konnen li.
29 Mwen menm, mwen konnen l', paske se bò kote l' mwen soti. Se li menm ki voye mwen.
30 Lè sa a, yo t'ap chache arete l', men pesonn pa t' mete men sou li paske lè l' pa t' ankò rive.
31 Atousa, te gen anpil moun nan foul pèp la ki te kwè nan li. Yo t'ap di: Lè Kris la va vini, èske la fè plis mirak pase nonm sa a?
32 Farizyen yo vin konnen sa yo t'ap di nan zòrèy sou Jezi nan pèp la. Chèf prèt yo ansanm ak farizyen yo voye kèk gad pou arete Jezi.
33 Jezi di konsa: Se pou yon ti tan ankò mwen la ak nou. Apre sa, mwen pral jwenn moun ki voye m' lan.
34 N'a chache m', men nou p'ap jwenn mwen, paske nou p'ap ka vini kote m' prale a.
35 Jwif yo yonn t'ap mande lòt: Ki bò l' prale menm pou nou pa kapab jwenn li? Eske li pral menm kote ak jwif ki gaye nan mitan moun Lagrès yo pou l' moutre moun Lagrès yo anpil bagay?
36 L'ap plede di: N'a chache m', men nou p'ap jwenn mwen. Nou pa ka vini kote mwen prale a. Kisa sa vle di menm?
37 ¶ Dènye jou fèt la, se li ki te pi enpòtan. Jou sa a, Jezi kanpe devan foul moun yo, li di yo byen fò: Si yon moun swaf dlo, li mèt vin jwenn mwen, li mèt vin bwè.
38 Moun ki mete konfyans yo nan mwen, y'ap wè gwo kouran dlo k'ap bay lavi koule soti nan kè yo, jan sa ekri nan Liv la.
39 (Jezi t'ap pale ki jan moun ki kwè nan li yo tapral resevwa Sentespri. Lè sa a, Sentespri pa t' ankò desann sou pesonn, paske Jezi pa t' ankò moute nan syèl la.)
40 Te gen kèk moun nan foul pèp la, lè yo fin tande pawòl sa yo, yo t'ap di konsa: Se vre wi. Nonm sa a, se pwofèt la!
41 Gen lòt ki t'ap di: Se Kris la. Gen lòt ankò ki t'ap di: Men, Kris la pa ka soti nan peyi Galile.
42 Liv la di: Kris la, se yon pitit pitit David la ye. Se Betleyèm li gen pou l' soti, lavil kote David te pase tout lavi li a.
43 Te vin gen divizyon nan mitan foul moun yo poutèt Jezi.
44 Gen ladan yo ki te vle arete l', men pesonn pa t' mete men sou li.
45 ¶ Lè gad yo tounen vin jwenn yo, chèf prèt yo ak farizyen yo mande yo: Poukisa nou pa mennen l' ban nou?
46 Gad yo reponn: Nou poko janm wè yon nonm ki pale tankou nonm sa a.
47 Farizyen yo di: Gen lè nou kite l' pran tèt nou tou?
48 Eske nou wè gen yon sèl nan chèf nou yo osinon nan farizyen yo ki kwè nan li?
49 Moun sa yo gen lè pa konn lalwa Moyiz la. Se moun ki gen madichon!
50 Nikodèm te yonn nan farizyen ki te la yo. Se menm Nikodèm sa a ki te al wè Jezi kèk jou pase. Li di yo konsa:

7 Apre sa, Jezi te fè laviwonn teritwa Galile a. Li pa t vle ale nan peyi Jide, paske chèf Jwif yo t ap chache touye li. 2 Se te moman Jwif yo te pral fete Fèt Tant yo. 3 Se poutèt sa frè l yo te di l: “Ou ta sipoze pati ale Jide nan fèt la. Konsa, tout disip ou yo ta wè mirak ou ap fè yo. 4 Si ou vle anpil moun konnen ou, ou pa dwe ap kache sa ou fè. Si ou kapab fè bagay ekstraòdinè sa yo, kite tout moun wè yo.” 5 Frè Jezi yo te pale konsa paske menm yo menm yo pa t kwè nan li.
6 Jezi di yo: “Mwen poko pare pou m al Jerizalèm, lè m poko rive. Men, pou nou menm, nou pa gen okenn lè espesyal, tout lè se menm pou nou. 7 Lemonn pa kapab rayi nou. Men lemonn rayi mwen, paske m ap di moun nan lemonn zèv yo pa bon. 8 Alò nou mèt ale. Mwen pa prale kounye a, paske tan pa m nan poko rive.” 9 Lè Jezi fin di sa, li rete nan peyi Galile.
10 Alò frè l yo pati y al nan fèt la. Lè yo fin pati, Jezi pati tou, men l te ale an sekrè. 11 Lidè Jwif yo t ap chache li nan fèt la. Yo t ap di: “Kote nonm nan?”
12 Te gen anpil moun la. Anpil nan yo t ap pale an sekrè antre yo de Jezi. Kèk nan yo te di: “Se yon nonm de byen li ye.” Men kèk lòt t ap di: “Se pa vre, mesye ap twonpe moun yo.” 13 Men pa t gen yon moun ki te brav ase pou l ta pale de li pou tout moun tande. Yo te pè lidè Jwif yo.
Jezi ap anseye nan Jerizalèm
14 Peryòd fèt la te deja nan mwatye konsa, Jezi ale nan tanp lan epi Li te kòmanse anseye. 15 Lidè Jwif yo te sezi epi yo di: “Kòman nonm sa a fè konnen tout bagay sa yo? Li pa te janm etidye menm jan ak nou!”
16 Jezi reponn: “Sa m ap anseye pa soti nan mwen menm. Ansèyman mwen soti nan moun ki voye m nan. 17 Moun ki vle fè sa Bondye vle reyèlman, y ap kapab konnen si ansèyman sa a soti nan Bondye oubyen si li soti nan mwen menm sèlman. 18 Nenpòt moun k ap anseye pwòp panse pa l, l ap chache glwa pou pwòp tèt li. Men yon moun k ap chache glwa pou moun ki voye li, yo kapab kwè l. Yon moun ki aji konsa p ap nan manti. 19 Moyiz te ban nou Lalwa, pa vre? Men nou pa obeyi Lalwa a. Si nou obeyi Lalwa, pou kisa n ap chache touye m?”
20 Moun yo reponn: “Yon demon fè w fou! Nou p ap eseye touye w pyès.”
21 Jezi di yo: “Mwen te fè yon mirak yon jou saba, epi nou tout te choke. 22 Nou obeyi Lalwa Moyiz te bay sou sikonsizyon an epi pafwa nou fè l nan jou saba a. (Men an reyalite se pa Moyiz ki ban nou sikonsizyon an. Li soti depi zansèt nou yo ki t ap viv anvan Moyiz.) Wi, byen souvan nou sikonsi ti bebe gason yo nan jou saba a. 23 Konsa, nou travay nan jou saba a! Nou retire yon ti moso po nan sèks yon bebe jou saba a! Nou fè sa pou n evite vyole Lalwa Moyiz la! Alò, pou kisa nou leve kont mwen poutèt mwen geri yon nonm totalman nan jou saba a? 24 Ann sispann jije sou laparans. Ann jije yon fason ki dwat.”
Moun yo ap mande si se Jezi ki Kris la
25 Kèk nan moun Jerizalèm yo di: “Men nonm y ap eseye wè si yo ta touye a. 26 Men l ap anseye kote tout moun kapab ni wè li ni tande li. Epi pèsonn pa eseye anpeche l fè sa. Petèt lidè yo te deside se li ki Mesi a vrèman. 27 Men, lè vrè Mesi va vini, pèsonn p ap konnen kote l soti. Nonm sa a, nou konnen moun ki kote li ye.”
28 Jezi te kontinye ap anseye kote l te ye nan tanp lan, li di byen fò: “Èske nou konnen ki moun ye ak kote mwen soti vrèman? Mwen vini isit la, men se pa ak pwòp desizyon mwen. Moun ki voye m an merite tout konfyans nou. Men nou pa konnen li. 29 Mwen konnen l paske se kote l mwen soti, epi se li menm ki voye m.”
30 Lè Jezi di sa, moun yo t ap eseye arete li. Men pa t gen yon moun ki te kapab mete men sou Li. Paske jou li pa t ko rive. 31 Men te gen anpil nan moun sa yo ki te kwè nan Jezi. Yo di: “Nonm sa a tèlman fè mirak. Lè Mesi a va vini, èske l ap ka fè plis mirak pase nonm sa a?”
Lidè Jwif yo ap chache arete Jezi
32 Farizyen yo te tande sa moun yo t ap di sou Jezi. Alò, chèf prèt yo mete ak Farizyen yo, yo voye kèk nan moun ki t ap fè polis nan tanp lan pou arete li. 33 Alò Jezi di: “Mwen avèk nou pou yon ti kras tan ankò. Epi m ap retounen jwenn moun ki te voye m nan. 34 Nou va chache m, men nou p ap jwenn mwen. Epi nou p ap kapab vini kote m prale a non plis.”
35 Jwif yo t ap di antre yo: “Ki kote pou nonm sa a ale pou nou pa jwen li? Èske se nan vil Grèk yo li pral abite, kote moun pa nou yo ye? Èske li pral anseye Grèk yo laba a?” 36 Yo t ap mande youn lòt, “Ki sa Jezi te vle di lè l di: Nou va chache m, men nou p ap jwenn mwen, epi Nou p ap kapab ale kote m prale a?”
Jezi pale osijè Sentespri a
37 Dènye jou fèt la te rive. Se jou pi ki enpòtan an. Nan Jou sa a, Jezi kanpe epi li di byen fò: “Nenpòt moun ki swaf kapab vini jwenn mwen, epi nenpòt moun ki kwè nan mwen va bwè! 38 Si yon moun kwè nan mwen, Bib la di sous dlo va koule soti nan kè li.” 39 Se te de Lespri Bondye a Jezi t ap pale. Moun ki te kwè nan Jezi ta gen pou resevwa Lespri Bondye a nan yon ti kras tan. Men nan lè sa a, yo pa t ko genyen Lespri Bondye, paske Jezi pa t ko monte pou l antre nan glwa li.
Moun ap fè diskisyon sou Jezi
40 Lè moun yo te tande sa Jezi di yo, gen nan yo ki di: “Nonm sa a se Pwofèt[a] la vre.”
41 Te gen lòt moun ki t ap di: “Se li menm ki Kris la.”
Te gen lòt ankò ki t ap di: “Kris la p ap soti nan Galile, pa vre? 42 Bib la di Kris la ap soti nan fanmi David. Epi yo di se Bètleyèm l ap soti, lavil kote David te rete a.” 43 Konsa tout moun pa te gen menm opinyon sou Jezi. 44 Kèk nan yo te vle arete Li. Men pèsonn pa t eseye fè sa.
Kèk lidè Jwif derefize kwè
45 Polis tanp lan te retounen ale jwenn chèf prèt ak Farizyen yo. Prèt yo ak Farizyen yo te mande yo: “Pou kisa nou pa mennen Jezi vini?”
46 Polis tanp lan te reponn: “Nou pa janm tande moun pale menm jan ak nonm sa a.”
47 Farizyen yo reponn: “Alò, nonm nan pran tèt nou tou! 48 Nou pa wè youn pami lidè yo, ni pami nou menm Farizyen ki kwè nan Li, pa vre? 49 Sèl moun ki kwè nan li se foul la, ki se yon bann moun modi, paske yo pa konnen anyen nan Lalwa a!”
50 Men, Nikodèm te la nan gwoup sa a. Se li menm ki t ale wè Jezi anvan sa.[b] Li te di: 51 “Èske Lalwa nou an pèmèt nou jije moun anvan nou tande yo, pou nou chache konnen kisa yo fè?” 52 Lidè Jwif yo reponn: “Gen lè se moun Galile ou ye tou! Etidye Bib la. Èske ou ap jwenn okenn pwofèt[c] ki soti Galile?”
Yon fanm yo kenbe nan adiltè

Jesus Goes to the Festival of Tabernacles
7 After this, Jesus went around in Galilee. He did not want[a] to go about in Judea because the Jewish leaders(A) there were looking for a way to kill him.(B) 2 But when the Jewish Festival of Tabernacles(C) was near, 3 Jesus’ brothers(D) said to him, “Leave Galilee and go to Judea, so that your disciples there may see the works you do. 4 No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.” 5 For even his own brothers did not believe in him.(E)
6 Therefore Jesus told them, “My time(F) is not yet here; for you any time will do. 7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates me(G) because I testify that its works are evil.(H) 8 You go to the festival. I am not[b] going up to this festival, because my time(I) has not yet fully come.” 9 After he had said this, he stayed in Galilee.
10 However, after his brothers had left for the festival, he went also, not publicly, but in secret. 11 Now at the festival the Jewish leaders were watching for Jesus(J) and asking, “Where is he?”
12 Among the crowds there was widespread whispering about him. Some said, “He is a good man.”
Others replied, “No, he deceives the people.”(K) 13 But no one would say anything publicly about him for fear of the leaders.(L)
Jesus Teaches at the Festival
14 Not until halfway through the festival did Jesus go up to the temple courts and begin to teach.(M) 15 The Jews(N) there were amazed and asked, “How did this man get such learning(O) without having been taught?”(P)
16 Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me.(Q) 17 Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out(R) whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own. 18 Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory,(S) but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him. 19 Has not Moses given you the law?(T) Yet not one of you keeps the law. Why are you trying to kill me?”(U)
20 “You are demon-possessed,”(V) the crowd answered. “Who is trying to kill you?”
21 Jesus said to them, “I did one miracle,(W) and you are all amazed. 22 Yet, because Moses gave you circumcision(X) (though actually it did not come from Moses, but from the patriarchs),(Y) you circumcise a boy on the Sabbath. 23 Now if a boy can be circumcised on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are you angry with me for healing a man’s whole body on the Sabbath? 24 Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.”(Z)
Division Over Who Jesus Is
25 At that point some of the people of Jerusalem began to ask, “Isn’t this the man they are trying to kill?(AA) 26 Here he is, speaking publicly, and they are not saying a word to him. Have the authorities(AB) really concluded that he is the Messiah?(AC) 27 But we know where this man is from;(AD) when the Messiah comes, no one will know where he is from.”
28 Then Jesus, still teaching in the temple courts,(AE) cried out, “Yes, you know me, and you know where I am from.(AF) I am not here on my own authority, but he who sent me is true.(AG) You do not know him, 29 but I know him(AH) because I am from him and he sent me.”(AI)
30 At this they tried to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him,(AJ) because his hour had not yet come.(AK) 31 Still, many in the crowd believed in him.(AL) They said, “When the Messiah comes, will he perform more signs(AM) than this man?”
32 The Pharisees heard the crowd whispering such things about him. Then the chief priests and the Pharisees sent temple guards to arrest him.
33 Jesus said, “I am with you for only a short time,(AN) and then I am going to the one who sent me.(AO) 34 You will look for me, but you will not find me; and where I am, you cannot come.”(AP)
35 The Jews said to one another, “Where does this man intend to go that we cannot find him? Will he go where our people live scattered(AQ) among the Greeks,(AR) and teach the Greeks? 36 What did he mean when he said, ‘You will look for me, but you will not find me,’ and ‘Where I am, you cannot come’?”(AS)
37 On the last and greatest day of the festival,(AT) Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.(AU) 38 Whoever believes(AV) in me, as Scripture has said,(AW) rivers of living water(AX) will flow from within them.”[c](AY) 39 By this he meant the Spirit,(AZ) whom those who believed in him were later to receive.(BA) Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.(BB)
40 On hearing his words, some of the people said, “Surely this man is the Prophet.”(BC)
41 Others said, “He is the Messiah.”
Still others asked, “How can the Messiah come from Galilee?(BD) 42 Does not Scripture say that the Messiah will come from David’s descendants(BE) and from Bethlehem,(BF) the town where David lived?” 43 Thus the people were divided(BG) because of Jesus. 44 Some wanted to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him.(BH)
Unbelief of the Jewish Leaders
45 Finally the temple guards went back to the chief priests and the Pharisees, who asked them, “Why didn’t you bring him in?”
46 “No one ever spoke the way this man does,”(BI) the guards replied.
47 “You mean he has deceived you also?”(BJ) the Pharisees retorted. 48 “Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed in him?(BK) 49 No! But this mob that knows nothing of the law—there is a curse on them.”
50 Nicodemus,(BL) who had gone to Jesus earlier and who was one of their own number, asked, 51 “Does our law condemn a man without first hearing him to find out what he has been doing?”
52 They replied, “Are you from Galilee, too? Look into it, and you will find that a prophet does not come out of Galilee.”(BM)
[The earliest manuscripts and many other ancient witnesses do not have John 7:53—8:11. A few manuscripts include these verses, wholly or in part, after John 7:36, John 21:25, Luke 21:38 or Luke 24:53.]
