¹² So speak and so do as those who will be judged by ^(A)the law of liberty. ¹³ For ^(B)judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown ^(C)no ^(D)mercy. ^(E)Mercy triumphs over judgment.

God’s Righteous Judgment

2 Therefore you are ^(A)inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, ^(B)for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. ² But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things. ³ And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God? ⁴ Or do you despise ^(C)the riches of His goodness, ^(D)forbearance, and ^(E)longsuffering, ^(F)not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

^10 (A)Now it happened, as Jesus sat at the table in the house, that behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples. ¹¹ And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with ^(B)tax collectors and ^(C)sinners?”

¹² When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. ¹³ But go and learn what this means: ^(D)‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, ^(E)but sinners, ^[a]to repentance.”
