James 1:26-27

26 If anyone thinks himself to be religious, yet does not [a](A)bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this person’s religion is worthless. 27 Pure and undefiled religion (B)in the sight of our God and Father is this: to (C)visit (D)orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained [b]by (E)the world.

26 If anyone thinks that he is religious and does not bridle his tongue, but instead deceives himself,[a] his religion is worthless. 27 A religion that is pure and stainless according to[b] God the Father is this: to take care of orphans and widows who are suffering, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
