James 1:4-8

King James Version

⁴But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

⁵If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

⁶But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

⁷For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

⁸A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

⁴Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature^(A) and complete, not lacking anything. ⁵If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God,^(B) who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.^(C) ⁶But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt,^(D) because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. ⁷That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. ⁸Such a person is double-minded^(E) and unstable^(F) in all they do.
