James 1:18-22

^18 (A)Of his own will he ^(B)brought us forth by the word of truth, ^(C)that we should be a kind of ^(D)firstfruits of his creatures.

Hearing and Doing the Word

^19 (E)Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person ^(F)be quick to hear, ^(G)slow to speak, ^(H)slow to anger; ²⁰ for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. ²¹ Therefore ^(I)put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with ^(J)meekness the implanted word, ^(K)which is able to save your souls.

²² But be ^(L)doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
