James 1:13-18

¹³ Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God.” For God cannot be tempted with evil, nor does He tempt anyone.

¹⁴ But everyone is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and is enticed.

¹⁵ Then, when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin. And sin, when it is completed, brings forth death.

¹⁶ Make no mistake, my dear brothers.

¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights, with Whom there is no change or turning shadow.

¹⁸ Of His own will He begat us with the Word of Truth, so that we would be as the firstfruits of His creatures.
