⁵Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us^[a]?^(A)

⁵Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?

⁴You, dear children,^(A) are from God and have overcome them,^(B) because the one who is in you^(C) is greater than the one who is in the world.^(D)

⁴Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
