52 Sédécias avait vingt et un ans lorsqu'il devint roi, et il régna onze ans à Jérusalem. Sa mère s'appelait Hamuthal, fille de Jérémie, de Libna.
2 Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel, entièrement comme avait fait Jojakim.
3 Et cela arriva à cause de la colère de l'Éternel contre Jérusalem et contre Juda, qu'il voulait rejeter de devant sa face. Et Sédécias se révolta contre le roi de Babylone.
4 La neuvième année du règne de Sédécias, le dixième jour du dixième mois, Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, vint avec toute son armée contre Jérusalem; ils campèrent devant elle, et élevèrent des retranchements tout autour.
5 La ville fut assiégée jusqu'à la onzième année du roi Sédécias.
6 Le neuvième jour du quatrième mois, la famine était forte dans la ville, et il n'y avait pas de pain pour le peuple du pays.
7 Alors la brèche fut faite à la ville; et tous les gens de guerre s'enfuirent, et sortirent de la ville pendant la nuit par le chemin de la porte entre les deux murs près du jardin du roi, tandis que les Chaldéens environnaient la ville. Les fuyards prirent le chemin de la plaine.
8 Mais l'armée des Chaldéens poursuivit le roi, et ils atteignirent Sédécias dans les plaines de Jéricho; et toute son armée se dispersa loin de lui.
9 Ils saisirent le roi, et le firent monter vers le roi de Babylone à Ribla, dans le pays de Hamath; et il prononça contre lui une sentence.
10 Le roi de Babylone fit égorger les fils de Sédécias en sa présence; il fit aussi égorger tous les chefs de Juda à Ribla.
11 Puis il fit crever les yeux à Sédécias, et le fit lier avec des chaînes d'airain; le roi de Babylone l'emmena à Babylone, et il le tint en prison jusqu'au jour de sa mort.
12 Le dixième jour du cinquième mois, -c'était la dix-neuvième année du règne de Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, -Nebuzaradan, chef des gardes, au service du roi de Babylone, vint à Jérusalem.
13 Il brûla la maison de l'Éternel, la maison du roi, et toutes les maisons de Jérusalem; il livra au feu toutes les maisons de quelque importance.
14 Toute l'armée des Chaldéens, qui était avec le chef des gardes, démolit toutes les murailles formant l'enceinte de Jérusalem.
15 Nebuzaradan, chef des gardes, emmena captifs une partie des plus pauvres du peuple, ceux du peuple qui étaient demeurés dans la ville, ceux qui s'étaient rendus au roi de Babylone, et le reste de la multitude.
16 Cependant Nebuzaradan, chef des gardes, laissa comme vignerons et comme laboureurs quelques-uns des plus pauvres du pays.
17 Les Chaldéens brisèrent les colonnes d'airain qui étaient dans la maison de l'Éternel, les bases, la mer d'airain qui était dans la maison de l'Éternel, et ils en emportèrent tout l'airain à Babylone.
18 Ils prirent les cendriers, les pelles, les couteaux, les coupes, les tasses, et tous les ustensiles d'airain avec lesquels on faisait le service.
19 Le chef des gardes prit encore les bassins, les brasiers, les coupes, les cendriers, les chandeliers, les tasses et les calices, ce qui était d'or et ce qui était d'argent.
20 Les deux colonnes, la mer, et les douze boeufs d'airain qui servaient de base, et que le roi Salomon avait faits pour la maison de l'Éternel, tous ces ustensiles d'airain avaient un poids inconnu.
21 La hauteur de l'une des colonnes était de dix-huit coudées, et un cordon de douze coudées l'entourait; elle était creuse, et son épaisseur avait quatre doigts;
22 il y avait au-dessus un chapiteau d'airain, et la hauteur d'un chapiteau était de cinq coudées; autour du chapiteau il y avait un treillis et des grenades, le tout d'airain; il en était de même pour la seconde colonne avec des grenades.
23 Il y avait quatre-vingt-seize grenades de chaque côté, et toutes les grenades autour du treillis étaient au nombre de cent.
24 Le chef des gardes prit Seraja, le souverain sacrificateur, Sophonie, le second sacrificateur, et les trois gardiens du seuil.
25 Et dans la ville il prit un eunuque qui avait sous son commandement les gens de guerre, sept hommes qui faisaient partie des conseillers du roi et qui furent trouvés dans la ville, le secrétaire du chef de l'armée qui était chargé d'enrôler le peuple du pays, et soixante hommes du peuple du pays qui se trouvèrent dans la ville.
26 Nebuzaradan, chef des gardes, les prit, et les conduisit vers le roi de Babylone à Ribla.
27 Le roi de Babylone les frappa et les fit mourir à Ribla, dans le pays de Hamath. Ainsi Juda fut emmené captif loin de son pays.
28 Voici le peuple que Nebucadnetsar emmena en captivité: la septième année, trois mille vingt-trois Juifs;
29 la dix-huitième année de Nebucadnetsar, il emmena de Jérusalem huit cent trente-deux personnes;
30 la vingt-troisième année de Nebucadnetsar, Nebuzaradan, chef des gardes, emmena sept cent quarante-cinq Juifs; en tout quatre mille six cents personnes.
31 La trente-septième année de la captivité de Jojakin, roi de Juda, le vingt-cinquième jour du douzième mois, Évil Merodac, roi de Babylone, dans la première année de son règne, releva la tête de Jojakin, roi de Juda, et le fit sortir de prison.
32 Il lui parla avec bonté, et il mit son trône au-dessus du trône des rois qui étaient avec lui à Babylone.
33 Il lui fit changer ses vêtements de prison, et Jojakin mangea toujours à sa table tout le temps de sa vie.
34 Le roi de Babylone pourvut constamment à son entretien journalier jusqu'au jour de sa mort, tout le temps de sa vie.

Zeddekiya n’atwalibwa eri kabaka w’e Babulooni e Libuna mu nsi ey’e Kamasi; n’amusalira omusango ne gumusinga. 10 (G)Awo kabaka w’e Babulooni n’atta batabani ba Zeddekiya nga kitaabwe alaba; n’atta n’abakungu bonna aba Yuda. 11 (H)N’alyoka aggyamu Zeddekiya amaaso n’amusiba mu masamba ag’ebikomo n’amutwala e Babulooni, gye yamuteeka mu kkomera okutuusa lwe yafa.
12 (I)Ku lunaku olw’ekkumi olw’omwezi ogwokutaano, mu mwaka ogw’ekkumi ogw’obufuzi bwa Nebukadduneeza kabaka w’e Babulooni, Nebuzaladaani omuduumizi w’eggye erikuuma kabaka, eyaweerezanga kabaka w’e Babulooni, yajja e Yerusaalemi. 13 (J)Nebukadduneeza n’ayokya yeekaalu ya Mukama n’olubiri lwa kabaka, n’ennyumba zonna eza Yerusaalemi. Buli kizimbe kyonna eky’omugaso n’akyokya. 14 (K)Eggye lya Babulooni lyonna eryali liduumirwa omuduumizi w’abakuumi bakabaka ne limenyera ddala ebisenge bya Yerusaalemi. 15 Nebuzaladaani omuduumizi w’abakuumi n’atwala abamu ku baavu ennyo n’abo abaasigala mu kibuga, awamu n’abaweesi n’abaali beewaddeyo, mu buwaŋŋanguse eri kabaka w’e Babulooni. 16 (L)Naye Nebuzaladaani n’asigazaayo abamu ku baavu ennyo mu ggwanga okulabiriranga emizabbibu n’okulimanga.
17 (M)Abakaludaaya ne bamenya empagi ez’ebikomo, n’ebikondo ebyali biseetulwa, n’Ennyanja ey’ekikomo, ebyali mu nnyumba ya Mukama ne batwala ekikomo kyonna e Babulooni. 18 (N)Ne batwala n’entamu, n’ebisena, n’ebisalako ebisirinza, n’ebibya, n’ebijiiko, n’ebintu byonna eby’ekikomo ebyakozesebwanga mu kuweereza mu Yeekaalu. 19 (O)Omuduumizi w’abakuumi ba kabaka n’atwala ebensani n’ebibya by’obubaane, n’ebijiiko, n’ebikondo bye ttaala, n’ebibya, n’entamu ebikozesebwa mu kiweebwayo ekyokunywa, byonna ebyali byakolebwa mu zaabu ne ffeeza.
20 (P)Ekikomo okuva ku mpagi ebbiri, n’Ennyanja, n’ennume ekkumi n’ebbiri ez’ebikomo wansi waayo, n’ebikondo kabaka Sulemaani bye yali akoledde yeekaalu ya Mukama, byali bizito nnyo ebitapimika. 21 (Q)Buli emu ku mpagi yali obuwanvu mita munaana ne desimoolo emu; n’obwetoolovu mita ttaano ne desimoolo nnya; n’omubiri gwayo gwali nga sentimita musanvu nga yamuwuluka. 22 (R)Yaliko n’omutwe gw’ekikomo, n’omutwe gumu ng’obuwanvu bwayo nga mita bbiri ne desimoolo ssatu, omutwe nga guliko ebitimbe n’amakomamawanga enjuuyi zonna, byonna nga bya bikomo; empagi eyookubiri nayo yaliko ebifaanana ebyo n’amakomamawanga. 23 (S)Mu buli mbiriizi za buli mpagi kwaliko amakomamawanga kyenda mu mukaaga era gonna awamu okwetooloola empagi gaali amakomamawanga kikumi.
24 (T)Omuduumizi w’abakuumi n’atwala Seraaya kabona asinga obukulu ne Sefaniya kabona owookubiri n’abaggazi abasatu nga basibe. 25 Abo abaali bakyali mu kibuga, n’atwalako omukungu akulira eggye, n’abawi b’amagezi omusanvu. N’atwala n’omuwandiisi eyali omukungu omukulu avunaanyizibwa okuwandiika abayingira mu magye ne basajja be nkaaga abaasangibwa mu kibuga. 26 (U)Nebuzaladaani omuduumizi n’abatwala bonna n’abaleeta eri kabaka w’e Babulooni e Libuna. 27 (V)Kabaka n’abattira eyo e Libuna, mu Kamasi.
Bw’atyo Yuda n’awaŋŋangusibwa, okuva mu nsi ya boobwe.
28 (W)Buno bwe bungi bw’abantu Nebukadduneeza be yatwala mu buwaŋŋanguse:
mu mwaka ogw’omusanvu ogw’obufuzi bwe:
Abayudaaya enkumi ssatu mu amakumi abiri mu basatu;
29 mu mwaka ogw’omunaana ogwa Nebukadduneeza,
n’atwala lunaana mu asatu mu babiri okuva e Yerusaalemi;
30 mu mwaka gwe ogw’amakumi abiri mu esatu,
Abayudaaya lusanvu mu ana mu bataano be baatwalibwa Nebuzaladaani omuduumizi w’abakuumi wa kabaka.
Bonna awamu ne baba abantu enkumi nnya mu lukaaga.

King James Version
52 Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
2 And he did that which was evil in the eyes of the Lord, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.
3 For through the anger of the Lord it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, till he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
4 And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it, and built forts against it round about.
5 So the city was besieged unto the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.
6 And in the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was sore in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.
7 Then the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled, and went forth out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king's garden; (now the Chaldeans were by the city round about:) and they went by the way of the plain.
8 But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.
9 Then they took the king, and carried him up unto the king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; where he gave judgment upon him.
10 And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes: he slew also all the princes of Judah in Riblah.
11 Then he put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in chains, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.
12 Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, which served the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem,
13 And burned the house of the Lord, and the king's house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, and all the houses of the great men, burned he with fire:
14 And all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down all the walls of Jerusalem round about.
15 Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive certain of the poor of the people, and the residue of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the multitude.
16 But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left certain of the poor of the land for vinedressers and for husbandmen.
17 Also the pillars of brass that were in the house of the Lord, and the bases, and the brasen sea that was in the house of the Lord, the Chaldeans brake, and carried all the brass of them to Babylon.
18 The caldrons also, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.
19 And the basons, and the firepans, and the bowls, and the caldrons, and the candlesticks, and the spoons, and the cups; that which was of gold in gold, and that which was of silver in silver, took the captain of the guard away.
20 The two pillars, one sea, and twelve brasen bulls that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made in the house of the Lord: the brass of all these vessels was without weight.
21 And concerning the pillars, the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits; and a fillet of twelve cubits did compass it; and the thickness thereof was four fingers: it was hollow.
22 And a chapiter of brass was upon it; and the height of one chapiter was five cubits, with network and pomegranates upon the chapiters round about, all of brass. The second pillar also and the pomegranates were like unto these.
23 And there were ninety and six pomegranates on a side; and all the pomegranates upon the network were an hundred round about.
24 And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door:
25 He took also out of the city an eunuch, which had the charge of the men of war; and seven men of them that were near the king's person, which were found in the city; and the principal scribe of the host, who mustered the people of the land; and threescore men of the people of the land, that were found in the midst of the city.
26 So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah.
27 And the king of Babylon smote them, and put them to death in Riblah in the land of Hamath. Thus Judah was carried away captive out of his own land.
28 This is the people whom Nebuchadrezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand Jews and three and twenty:
29 In the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar he carried away captive from Jerusalem eight hundred thirty and two persons:
30 In the three and twentieth year of Nebuchadrezzar Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the Jews seven hundred forty and five persons: all the persons were four thousand and six hundred.
31 And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon in the first year of his reign lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison.
32 And spake kindly unto him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon,
33 And changed his prison garments: and he did continually eat bread before him all the days of his life.
34 And for his diet, there was a continual diet given him of the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.
