36 At ang anghel ng Panginoon ay humayo at pumatay sa kampo ng mga taga-Asiria ng isandaan walumpu't limang libo; at nang ang mga tao ay maagang bumangon kinaumagahan, narito, silang lahat ay mga bangkay.

37 Sa gayo'y umalis si Senakerib na hari ng Asiria, bumalik at nanirahan sa Ninive.

38 At nang siya'y sumasamba sa bahay ni Nisroc na kanyang diyos, pinatay siya ng tabak nina Adramalec at Sharezer na kanyang mga anak at sila'y tumakas sa lupain ng Ararat. At si Esarhadon na kanyang anak ang nagharing kapalit niya.

36 Then the angel(A) of the Lord went out and put to death(B) a hundred and eighty-five thousand in the Assyrian(C) camp. When the people got up the next morning—there were all the dead bodies! 37 So Sennacherib(D) king of Assyria broke camp and withdrew. He returned to Nineveh(E) and stayed there.

38 One day, while he was worshiping in the temple(F) of his god Nisrok, his sons Adrammelek and Sharezer killed him with the sword, and they escaped to the land of Ararat.(G) And Esarhaddon(H) his son succeeded him as king.(I)

37 So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.

38 And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Armenia: and Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.

36 Then the (B)angel[a] of the Lord went out, and [b]killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses—all dead. 37 So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed and went away, returned home, and remained at Nineveh. 38 Now it came to pass, as he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, that his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer struck him down with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. Then (C)Esarhaddon his son reigned in his place.
