Isaias 33
Ang Biblia (1978)
Kapayapaan ay hahalili sa pagkagiba ng kaaway. Ang katatagan ng matuwid.
33 Sa aba mo na (A)sumasamsam, at ikaw ay hindi nasamsaman; at gumagawa na may kataksilan, at sila'y hindi gumawang may kataksilan sa iyo! (B)Pagka ikaw ay naglikat ng pagsamsam, ikaw ay sasamsaman; at pagka ikaw ay nakatapos ng paggawang may kataksilan, sila'y gagawang may kataksilan sa iyo.
2 Oh Panginoon, magmahabagin ka sa amin; aming hinintay (C)ka: ikaw ay maging kanilang bisig tuwing umaga; aming kaligtasan naman sa panahon ng kabagabagan.
3 Sa ingay ng kagulo ay nagsisitakas ang mga bayan; sa pagbangon mo ay nagsisipangalat (D)ang mga bansa.
4 At ang iyong samsam ay pipisanin na gaya ng pagpisan ng uod: kung paanong ang mga balang ay nagsisilukso ay gayon luluksuhan ng mga tao.
5 Ang Panginoon ay nahayag; (E)sapagka't siya'y tumatahan sa mataas: kaniyang pinuno ang Sion ng kahatulan at katuwiran.
6 At magkakaroon ng kapanatagan sa iyong mga panahon, kasaganaan ng kaligtasan, karunungan at kaalaman: ang pagkatakot sa Panginoon ay kaniyang kayamanan.
7 Narito, ang kanilang mga matapang ay nagsisihiyaw sa labas; (F)ang mga sugo ng kapayapaan ay nagsisiiyak na mainam.
8 Ang mga lansangan ay sira, ang palalakad na tao ay (G)naglilikat: (H)kaniyang sinira ang tipan, kaniyang hinamak ang mga bayan, hindi niya pinakukundanganan ang kapuwa tao.
9 Ang lupain ay nananangis at nahahapis: (I)ang Libano ay nahihiya at natutuyo: ang (J)Saron ay gaya ng isang ilang; at ang (K)Basan at ang Carmel ay napapaspas ang kanilang mga dahon.
10 Ngayo'y babangon ako, (L)sabi ng Panginoon; ngayo'y magpapakataas ako; ngayo'y magpapakadakila ako.
11 Kayo'y mangaglilihi ng ipa, kayo'y manganganak ng (M)dayami: ang inyong hinga ay apoy na pupugnaw sa inyo.
12 At ang mga bayan ay magiging gaya ng pagluluto ng apog: (N)gaya ng mga putol na mga tinik, na mga nasusunog sa apoy.
13 Pakinggan ninyo, ninyong nangasa malayo, (O)kung ano ang aking ginawa; at kilalanin ninyo, na nangasa malapit, ang aking kapangyarihan.
14 Ang mga makasalanan sa Sion ay nangatatakot; nanginginig ang (P)mga masasama. Sino sa atin ang tatahan sa mamumugnaw na apoy? Sino sa atin ang tatahan sa walang hanggang ningas?
15 Siyang lumalakad ng matuwid, at[a] nagsasalita ng matuwid; siyang humahamak ng pakinabang sa mga kapighatian, na iniuurong ang kaniyang mga kamay sa paghawak ng mga suhol, na nagtatakip ng kaniyang mga tainga ng pagdinig ng tungkol sa dugo, at ipinipikit ang kaniyang mga mata sa pagtingin sa kasamaan;
16 Siya'y tatahan sa mataas, ang kaniyang dakong sanggalangan ay ang mga katibayan na malalaking bato: ang kaniyang tinapay ay mabibigay sa kaniya; ang (Q)kaniyang tubig ay sagana.
Ang Mabiyayang paghahari ng Panginoon.
17 Makikita ng iyong mga mata (R)ang hari sa kaniyang kagandahan: sila'y tatanaw sa isang lupaing malawak.
18 Ang inyong puso ay gugunita ng kakilabutan: (S)saan nandoon siya na bumibilang, saan nandoon siya na tumitimbang ng buwis? saan nandoon siya na bumibilang ng mga moog?
19 Hindi mo makikita ang (T)mabagsik na bayan, (U)ang bayan na may malalim na pananalita na hindi mo matatalastas, na may ibang wika na hindi mo mauunawa.
20 Tumingin ka sa Sion, ang (V)bayan ng ating mga takdang kapistahan: makikita ng iyong mga mata ang (W)Jerusalem na tahimik na tahanan, isang tabernakulo (X)na hindi makikilos, ang mga tulos (Y)niyao'y hindi mangabubunot kailan man, o mapapatid man ang alin man sa mga tali niyaon.
21 Kundi doon ay sasa atin ang Panginoon sa kamahalan, na dako ng mga maluwang na ilog at batis; na hindi daraanan ng mga daong na may mga gaod, o daraanan man ng magilas na sasakyang dagat.
22 Sapagka't ang Panginoon ay ating hukom, ang Panginoon ay ating tagapaglagda ng kautusan, (Z)ang Panginoon ay ating hari; kaniyang ililigtas tayo.
23 Ang iyong mga tali ay nangakalag: hindi nila mapatibay ang kanilang palo, hindi nila mailadlad ang layag: ang huli nga na malaking samsam ay binahagi; ang pilay ay kumuha ng huli.
24 At ang mamamayan ay (AA)hindi magsasabi, Ako'y may sakit: (AB)ang bayan na tumatahan doon ay patatawarin sa kanilang kasamaan.

A Prayer in Deep Distress
33 Woe to you (A)who plunder, though you have not been plundered;
And you who deal treacherously, though they have not dealt treacherously with you!
(B)When you cease plundering,
You will be (C)plundered;
When you make an end of dealing treacherously,
They will deal treacherously with you.
2 O Lord, be gracious to us;
(D)We have waited for You.
Be [a]their arm every morning,
Our salvation also in the time of trouble.
3 At the noise of the tumult the people (E)shall flee;
When You lift Yourself up, the nations shall be scattered;
4 And Your plunder shall be gathered
Like the gathering of the caterpillar;
As the running to and fro of locusts,
He shall run upon them.
5 (F)The Lord is exalted, for He dwells on high;
He has filled Zion with justice and righteousness.
6 Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times,
And the strength of salvation;
The fear of the Lord is His treasure.
7 Surely their valiant ones shall cry outside,
(G)The ambassadors of peace shall weep bitterly.
8 (H)The highways lie waste,
The traveling man ceases.
(I)He has broken the covenant,
[b]He has despised the [c]cities,
He regards no man.
9 (J)The earth mourns and languishes,
Lebanon is shamed and shriveled;
Sharon is like a wilderness,
And Bashan and Carmel shake off their fruits.
Impending Judgment on Zion
10 “Now(K) I will rise,” says the Lord;
“Now I will be exalted,
Now I will lift Myself up.
11 (L)You shall conceive chaff,
You shall bring forth stubble;
Your breath, as fire, shall devour you.
12 And the people shall be like the burnings of lime;
(M)Like thorns cut up they shall be burned in the fire.
13 Hear, (N)you who are afar off, what I have done;
And you who are near, acknowledge My might.”
14 The sinners in Zion are afraid;
Fearfulness has seized the hypocrites:
“Who among us shall dwell with the devouring (O)fire?
Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?”
15 He who (P)walks righteously and speaks uprightly,
He who despises the gain of oppressions,
Who gestures with his hands, refusing bribes,
Who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed,
And (Q)shuts his eyes from seeing evil:
16 He will dwell on [d]high;
His place of defense will be the fortress of rocks;
Bread will be given him,
His water will be sure.
The Land of the Majestic King
17 Your eyes will see the King in His (R)beauty;
They will see the land that is very far off.
18 Your heart will meditate on terror:
(S)“Where is the scribe?
Where is he who weighs?
Where is he who counts the towers?”
19 (T)You will not see a fierce people,
(U)A people of obscure speech, beyond perception,
Of a [e]stammering tongue that you cannot understand.
20 (V)Look upon Zion, the city of our appointed feasts;
Your eyes will see (W)Jerusalem, a quiet home,
A tabernacle that will not be taken down;
(X)Not one of (Y)its stakes will ever be removed,
Nor will any of its cords be broken.
21 But there the majestic Lord will be for us
A place of broad rivers and streams,
In which no [f]galley with oars will sail,
Nor majestic ships pass by
22 (For the Lord is our (Z)Judge,
The Lord is our (AA)Lawgiver,
(AB)The Lord is our King;
He will save us);
23 Your tackle is loosed,
They could not strengthen their mast,
They could not spread the sail.
Then the prey of great plunder is divided;
The lame take the prey.
24 And the inhabitant will not say, “I am sick”;
(AC)The people who dwell in it will be forgiven their iniquity.

O Lord, Be Gracious to Us
33 (A)Ah, you destroyer,
who yourself have not been destroyed,
you traitor,
whom none has betrayed!
When you have ceased to destroy,
you will be destroyed;
and when you have finished betraying,
they will betray you.
2 O Lord, be gracious to us; (B)we wait for you.
Be our arm every morning,
our salvation in the time of trouble.
3 (C)At the tumultuous noise peoples flee;
when you lift yourself up, nations are scattered,
4 and your spoil is gathered as the caterpillar gathers;
(D)as locusts leap, it is leapt upon.
5 (E)The Lord is exalted, for he dwells on high;
he will fill Zion with justice and righteousness,
6 (F)and he will be the stability of your times,
abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge;
the fear of the Lord is Zion's[a] treasure.
7 Behold, their heroes cry in the streets;
(G)the envoys of peace weep bitterly.
8 (H)The highways lie waste;
the traveler ceases.
(I)Covenants are broken;
cities[b] are despised;
there is no regard for man.
9 (J)The land mourns and languishes;
Lebanon is confounded and withers away;
Sharon is like a desert,
and Bashan and Carmel shake off their leaves.
10 (K)“Now I will arise,” says the Lord,
“now I will lift myself up;
now I will be exalted.
11 (L)You conceive chaff; you give birth to stubble;
your breath is (M)a fire that will consume you.
12 And the peoples will be as if burned to lime,
(N)like thorns cut down, that are burned in the fire.”
13 Hear, you who are far off, what I have done;
and you who are near, acknowledge my might.

Who among us can dwell with everlasting burnings?”

who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed
(R)and shuts his eyes from looking on evil,
16 he will dwell on the heights;
his place of defense will be the fortresses of rocks;
(S)his bread will be given him; his water will be sure.
17 (T)Your eyes will behold the king in his beauty;
(U)they will see a land that stretches afar.
18 (V)Your heart will muse on the terror:
“Where is he who counted, where is (W)he who weighed the tribute?
Where is (X)he who counted the towers?”
19 (Y)You will see no more the insolent people,
the people (Z)of an obscure speech that you cannot comprehend,
stammering in a tongue that you cannot understand.
20 Behold Zion, the city of our appointed feasts!
(AA)Your eyes will see Jerusalem,
an untroubled habitation, an (AB)immovable tent,
whose stakes will never be plucked up,
nor will any of its cords be broken.
21 But there the Lord in majesty will be for us
a place of (AC)broad rivers and streams,
(AD)where no galley with oars can go,
nor majestic ship can pass.
22 For the Lord is our (AE)judge; the Lord is our (AF)lawgiver;
the Lord is our (AG)king; he will save us.
23 Your cords hang loose;
they cannot hold the mast firm in its place
or keep the sail spread out.
(AH)Then prey and spoil in abundance will be divided;
even (AI)the lame will take the prey.
24 And no inhabitant will say, (AJ)“I am sick”;
(AK)the people who dwell there will be forgiven their iniquity.

33 (A)Guai a te che devasti e non sei stato devastato,
che sei perfido e non t'è stata usata perfidia!
Quando avrai finito di devastare sarai devastato;
quando avrai finito di essere perfido, ti sarà usata perfidia.
2 Signore, abbi pietà di noi!
Noi speriamo in te.
Sii tu il braccio del popolo ogni mattina,
la nostra salvezza in tempo di angoscia!
3 Alla tua voce tonante
fuggono i popoli;
quando tu sorgi,
si disperdono le nazioni.
4 Il vostro bottino sarà mietuto,
come miete il bruco;
altri vi si precipiterà sopra,
come si precipita la *locusta.
5 Eccelso è il Signore
perché abita in alto;
egli riempie *Sion
di equità e di giustizia.
6 I tuoi giorni saranno resi sicuri;
la saggezza e la conoscenza sono una ricchezza di liberazione;
il timore del Signore è il tesoro di Sion.
7 Ecco, i loro eroi
gridano là fuori;
i messaggeri di pace
piangono amaramente.
8 Le strade sono deserte,
nessuno passa piú per le vie.
Il nemico ha rotto il patto, disprezza i testimoni,
non tiene in nessun conto gli uomini.
9 Il paese è nel lutto e langue;
il Libano si vergogna e intristisce;
*Saron è come un deserto,
*Basan e il *Carmelo hanno perduto il fogliame.
10 «Ora sorgerò»,
dice il Signore;
«ora sarò esaltato,
ora mi innalzerò.
11 Voi avete concepito pula,
e partorirete stoppia;
il vostro fiato
è un fuoco che vi divorerà».
12 I popoli saranno
come fornaci da calce,
come rovi tagliati,
che si danno alle fiamme.
13 (B)O voi che siete lontani, udite quello che ho fatto!
Voi che siete vicini, riconoscete la mia potenza!
14 I peccatori sono presi da spavento in Sion,
un tremito si è impadronito degli empi.
«Chi di noi potrà resistere al fuoco divorante?
Chi di noi potrà resistere alle fiamme eterne?»
15 Colui che cammina per le vie della giustizia,
e parla rettamente;
colui che disprezza i guadagni estorti,
che scuote le mani per non accettar regali,
che si tura gli orecchi per non udir parlare di sangue
e chiude gli occhi per non vedere il male.
16 Egli abiterà in luoghi elevati,
le ròcche fortificate saranno il suo rifugio;
il suo pane gli sarà dato,
la sua acqua gli sarà assicurata.
17 (C)Gli occhi tuoi ammireranno il re nella sua bellezza,
contempleranno il paese, che si estende lontano.
18 Il tuo cuore mediterà sui terrori passati:
«Dov'è il contabile? Dov'è colui che pesava il denaro?
Dov'è colui che teneva il conto delle torri[a]?»
19 Tu non lo vedrai piú quel popolo feroce,
quel popolo dal linguaggio oscuro che non si comprende,
che balbetta una lingua che non si capisce.
20 Contempla Sion, la città delle nostre solennità!
I tuoi occhi vedranno *Gerusalemme, soggiorno tranquillo,
tenda che non sarà mai trasportata,
i cui picchetti non saranno mai divelti,
il cui cordame non sarà mai
strappato.
21 Là il Signore sta per noi in tutta la sua maestà,
in luogo di torrenti e di larghi fiumi,
dove non giunge nave da remi,
dove non passa potente vascello.
22 Poiché il Signore è il nostro giudice,
il Signore è il nostro legislatore,
il Signore è il nostro re,
egli è colui che ci salva.
23 I tuoi cordami, nemico, si sono allentati,
non tengono piú fermo in piedi l'albero, e non spiegano piú le vele.
Allora si spartirà la preda di un ricco bottino;
gli stessi zoppi prenderanno parte al saccheggio.
24 Nessun abitante dirà: «Io sono malato».
Il popolo che abita Sion ha ottenuto il perdono della sua *iniquità.
