³² He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High.^(A) The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,^{(B) 33} and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom^(C) will never end.”^(D)

⁴⁴ “In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush^(A) all those kingdoms^(B) and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.^(C)

¹⁴ He was given authority,^(A) glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him.^(B) His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom^(C) is one that will never be destroyed.^(D)

²⁷ Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of all the kingdoms^(A) under heaven will be handed over to the holy people^(B) of the Most High.^(C) His kingdom will be an everlasting^(D) kingdom, and all rulers will worship^(E) and obey him.’

³⁵ Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were all broken to pieces and became like chaff on a threshing floor in the summer. The wind swept them away^(A) without leaving a trace. But the rock that struck the statue became a huge mountain^(B) and filled the whole earth.^(C)

¹⁷ For this is what the Lord says: ‘David will never fail^(H) to have a man to sit on the throne of Israel, ¹⁸ nor will the Levitical^(I) priests^(J) ever fail to have a man to stand before me continually to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings and to present sacrifices.^(K)’”

¹⁹ The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: ²⁰ “This is what the Lord says: ‘If you can break my covenant with the day^(L) and my covenant with the night, so that day and night no longer come at their appointed time,^{(M) 21} then my covenant^(N) with David my servant—and my covenant with the Levites^(O) who are priests ministering before me—can be broken and David will no longer have a descendant to reign on his throne.^(P)
