Isaiah 9:12-16

New International Version

Yet for all this, his anger^(D) is not turned away,
    his hand is still upraised.^(E)

¹³ But the people have not returned^(F) to him who struck^(G) them,
    nor have they sought^(H) the Lord Almighty.
¹⁴ So the Lord will cut off from Israel both head and tail,
    both palm branch and reed^(I) in a single day;^(J)
15 the elders^(K) and dignitaries^(L) are the head,
    the prophets^(M) who teach lies^(N) are the tail.
¹⁶ Those who guide^(O) this people mislead them,
    and those who are guided are led astray.^(P)
