Isaiah 8:11-18

11 For thus Yahweh spoke to me with a (A)strong hand and disciplined me (B)not to walk in the way of this people, saying,
12 “You are not to say, ‘It is a (C)conspiracy!’
In regard to all that this people call a conspiracy;
And (D)you are not to fear [a]what they fear, and you shall not tremble.
13 It is (E)Yahweh of hosts (F)whom you should regard as holy.
And He shall be your fear,
And He shall be your cause of trembling.
14 Then He shall become a (G)sanctuary;
But to both the houses of Israel, a (H)stone to strike and a rock to stumble over,
And a snare and a (I)trap for the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
15 And many (J)will stumble over them;
Then they will fall and be broken;
They will even be snared and caught.”
16 (K)Bind up the testimony, (L)seal the [b]law among (M)my disciples. 17 And I will (N)wait for Yahweh (O)who is hiding His face from the house of Jacob; and I will hope for Him. 18 (P)Behold, I and the children whom Yahweh has given me are for (Q)signs and wonders in Israel from Yahweh of hosts, who (R)dwells on Mount Zion.

Fear God, Heed His Word
11 For the Lord spoke thus to me with [a]a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying:
12 “Do not say, ‘A conspiracy,’
Concerning all that this people call a conspiracy,
Nor be afraid of their [b]threats, nor be [c]troubled.
13 The Lord of hosts, Him you shall hallow;
Let Him be your fear,
And let Him be your dread.
14 (A)He will be as a [d]sanctuary,
But (B)a stone of stumbling and a rock of [e]offense
To both the houses of Israel,
As a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
15 And many among them shall (C)stumble;
They shall fall and be broken,
Be snared and [f]taken.”
16 Bind up the testimony,
Seal the law among my disciples.
17 And I will wait on the Lord,
Who (D)hides His face from the house of Jacob;
And I (E)will hope in Him.
18 (F)Here am I and the children whom the Lord has given me!
We (G)are for signs and wonders in Israel
From the Lord of hosts,
Who dwells in Mount Zion.
