⁹ Take notice,^[a] you peoples, and be dismayed;
    listen, all you far countries;
gird yourselves and be dismayed!^[b]

¹² Woe, the thunder of many peoples,
    they thunder like the thundering of the sea!
The roar of nations,
    they roar like the roaring of mighty waters!^(A)
13 [[When the nations roar like the roaring of many waters,]]^[a]
    he will rebuke them, and they will flee far away,
chased like chaff on the mountains before the wind
    and like whirling dust before the storm.^(B)

¹⁴ The wicked draw the sword and bend their bows
    to bring down the poor and needy,
    to kill those who walk uprightly;^(A)
15 their sword shall enter their own heart,
    and their bows shall be broken.^(B)

¹¹ Come quickly,^[a]
    all you nations all around;
    gather yourselves there.
Bring down your warriors, O Lord.^(B)
12 Let the nations rouse themselves
    and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat,
for there I will sit to judge
    all the neighboring nations.^(C)

¹³ Put in the sickle,
    for the harvest is ripe.
Go in, tread,
    for the winepress is full.
The vats overflow,
    for their wickedness is great.^(D)

¹⁴ Multitudes, multitudes,
    in the valley of decision!
For the day of the Lord is near
    in the valley of decision.^(E)
