    and chose that in which I did not delight.”

¹² I will destine you to the sword,
    and all of you shall bow down to the slaughter,
^(A)because, when I called, you did not answer;
    when I spoke, you did not listen,
^(B)but you did what was evil in my eyes
    and chose what I did not delight in.”

^24 (A)What the wicked dreads ^(B)will come upon him,
    but ^(C)the desire of the righteous will be granted.

^24 (A)Because I have called and ^(B)you refused to listen,
    have ^(C)stretched out my hand and no one has heeded,

³¹ therefore they shall eat ^(A)the fruit of their way,
    and have ^(B)their fill of their own devices.
³² For the simple are killed by ^(C)their turning away,
    and ^(D)the complacency of fools destroys them;

¹² So I ^(A)gave them over to their ^(B)stubborn hearts,
    to follow their own ^(C)counsels.
