For (A)My hand made all these things,
Thus all these things came into being,” declares Yahweh.
“But to this one I will look,
To him who is humble and (B)contrite of spirit, and who (C)trembles at My word.

But he who slaughters an ox is the one who strikes down a man;
He who sacrifices a lamb is the one who breaks a dog’s neck;
He who offers a grain offering is the one who offers (D)swine’s blood;
He who (E)offers a memorial offering of frankincense is the one who blesses wickedness.
As they have chosen their (F)own ways,
And their soul takes pleasure in their (G)detestable things,
So I will (H)choose their [a]punishments
And will (I)bring on them what they dread,
Because I called, but (J)no one answered;
I spoke, but they did not listen.
And they did what was (K)evil in My eyes
And chose that in which I did not take pleasure.”

  1. Isaiah 66:4 Lit ill treatments

Has not my hand made all these things,(A)
    and so they came into being?”
declares the Lord.

“These are the ones I look on with favor:
    those who are humble and contrite in spirit,(B)
    and who tremble at my word.(C)
But whoever sacrifices a bull(D)
    is like one who kills a person,
and whoever offers a lamb
    is like one who breaks a dog’s neck;
whoever makes a grain offering
    is like one who presents pig’s(E) blood,
and whoever burns memorial incense(F)
    is like one who worships an idol.
They have chosen their own ways,(G)
    and they delight in their abominations;(H)
so I also will choose harsh treatment for them
    and will bring on them what they dread.(I)
For when I called, no one answered,(J)
    when I spoke, no one listened.
They did evil(K) in my sight
    and chose what displeases me.”(L)
