Isaiah 65:13-20

New International Version

¹³Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“My servants will eat,^(A)
    but you will go hungry;^(B)
my servants will drink,^(C)
    but you will go thirsty;^(D)
my servants will rejoice,^(E)
    but you will be put to shame.^(F)
¹⁴My servants will sing^(G)
    out of the joy of their hearts,
but you will cry out^(H)
    from anguish of heart
    and wail in brokenness of spirit.
¹⁵You will leave your name
    for my chosen ones to use in their curses;^(I)
the Sovereign Lord will put you to death,
    but to his servants he will give another name.^(J)
¹⁶Whoever invokes a blessing^(K) in the land
    will do so by the one true God;^(L)
whoever takes an oath in the land
    will swear^(M) by the one true God.
For the past troubles^(N) will be forgotten
    and hidden from my eyes.

New Heavens and a New Earth

¹⁷“See, I will create
    new heavens and a new earth.^(O)
The former things will not be remembered,^(P)
    nor will they come to mind.
¹⁸But be glad and rejoice^(Q) forever
    in what I will create,
for I will create Jerusalem^(R) to be a delight
    and its people a joy.
¹⁹I will rejoice^(S) over Jerusalem
    and take delight^(T) in my people;
the sound of weeping and of crying^(U)
    will be heard in it no more.

²⁰“Never again will there be in it
    an infant^(V) who lives but a few days,
    or an old man who does not live out his years;^(W)
the one who dies at a hundred
    will be thought a mere child;
the one who fails to reach^[a] a hundred
    will be considered accursed.
