13 Who led them through the depths?
Like the horse in the wilderness, they did not (A)stumble;
14 Like the cattle which go down into the valley,
The Spirit of the (B)Lord gave [a]them rest.
So You (C)led Your people,
To make for Yourself a glorious name.

You Are Our Father

15 (D)Look down from heaven and see from Your holy and glorious (E)lofty habitation;
Where are Your (F)zeal and Your mighty deeds?
The (G)stirrings of Your heart and Your compassion are restrained toward me.
16 For You are our (H)Father, though (I)Abraham does not know us
And Israel does not recognize us.
You, Lord, are our Father,
Our (J)Redeemer from ancient times is Your name.
17 Why, Lord, do You (K)cause us to stray from Your ways
And (L)harden our heart from fearing You?
(M)Return for the sake of Your servants, the tribes of Your heritage.
18 Your holy people possessed Your sanctuary for a little while,
Our adversaries have (N)trampled it down.
19 We have become like those over whom You have never ruled,
Like those who were not called by Your name.

Prayer for Mercy and Help

64 [b]Oh, that You would tear open the heavens and (O)come down,
That the mountains would (P)quake at Your presence—
[c]As fire kindles brushwood, as fire causes water to boil—
To make Your name known to Your adversaries,
That the (Q)nations may tremble at Your presence!
When You did (R)awesome things which we did not expect,
You came down, the mountains quaked at Your presence.
For from days of old (S)they have not heard or perceived by ear,
Nor has the eye seen a God besides You,
Who acts in behalf of one who (T)waits for Him.
You (U)meet him who rejoices in (V)doing righteousness,
Who (W)remembers You in Your ways.
Behold, (X)You were angry, for we sinned,
We continued in [d]our sins for a long time;
Yet shall we be saved?
For all of us have become like one who is (Y)unclean,
And all our (Z)righteous deeds are like a filthy garment;
And all of us (AA)wither like a leaf,
And our (AB)wrongdoings, like the wind, take us away.
There is (AC)no one who calls on Your name,
Who stirs himself to take hold of You;
For You have (AD)hidden Your face from us
And have [e]surrendered us to the power of our wrongdoings.
