(A)I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem;
They shall [a]never hold their peace day or night.
You who [b]make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent,
And give Him no rest till He establishes
And till He makes Jerusalem (B)a praise in the earth.

The Lord has sworn by His right hand
And by the arm of His strength:
“Surely I will no longer (C)give your grain
As food for your enemies;
And the sons of the foreigner shall not drink your new wine,
For which you have labored.
But those who have gathered it shall eat it,
And praise the Lord;
Those who have brought it together shall drink it (D)in My holy courts.”

10 Go through,
Go through the gates!
(E)Prepare the way for the people;
Build up,
Build up the highway!
Take out the stones,
(F)Lift up a banner for the peoples!

11 Indeed the Lord has proclaimed
To the end of the world:
(G)“Say to the daughter of Zion,
‘Surely your salvation is coming;
Behold, His (H)reward is with Him,
And His [c]work before Him.’ ”
12 And they shall call them The Holy People,
The Redeemed of the Lord;
And you shall be called Sought Out,
A City Not Forsaken.

35 (A)Paul and Barnabas also remained in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

Division over John Mark

36 Then after some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us now go back and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they are doing.” 37 Now Barnabas [a]was determined to take with them (B)John called Mark. 38 But Paul insisted that they should not take with them (C)the one who had departed from them in Pamphylia, and had not gone with them to the work. 39 Then the contention became so sharp that they parted from one another. And so Barnabas took Mark and sailed to (D)Cyprus; 40 but Paul chose Silas and departed, (E)being [b]commended by the brethren to the grace of God. 41 And he went through Syria and Cilicia, (F)strengthening the churches.

Preach the Word

I (A)charge you [a]therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, (B)who will judge the living and the dead [b]at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. (C)Convince, (D)rebuke, (E)exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. (F)For the time will come when they will not endure (G)sound doctrine, (H)but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and (I)be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, (J)endure afflictions, do the work of (K)an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

Paul’s Valedictory

For (L)I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of (M)my departure is at hand. (N)I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me (O)the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous (P)Judge, will give to me (Q)on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.

The Abandoned Apostle

Be diligent to come to me quickly; 10 for (R)Demas has forsaken me, (S)having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica—Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia. 11 Only Luke is with me. Get (T)Mark and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for ministry.
