Ett nådens år från Herren
61 Herrens, Herrens Ande är över mig,
ty Herren har smort mig
till att predika glädjens budskap för de ödmjuka.
Han har sänt mig
att förbinda dem som har ett förkrossat hjärta,
att ropa ut frihet för de fångna
och befrielse för de bundna,
2 till att predika ett nådens år från Herren
och en hämndens dag från vår Gud,
för att trösta alla sörjande,
3 för att låta de sörjande i Sion
få huvudprydnad i stället för aska,
glädjens olja i stället för sorg,
lovprisningens klädnad i stället för en modfälld ande.
Och de skall kallas "rättfärdighetens terebinter",
planterade av Herren till hans förhärligande.
4 De skall bygga upp gamla ruiner,
upprätta tidigare ödelagda platser.
De skall åter bygga upp de ödelagda städerna,
platser som har legat öde släkte efter släkte.
5 Främlingar skall stå redo att föra era hjordar i bet,
utlänningar skall åt er bruka era åkrar och vingårdar.
6 Och ni skall kallas " Herrens präster",
man skall säga om er: "Vår Guds tjänare".
Ni skall få njuta av hednafolkens skatter
och berömma er av deras härlighet.
7 För er skam skall ni få dubbelt igen,
och de som förödmjukades skall nu jubla över sin del.
Därför skall de få en dubbel lott i sitt land,
evig glädje skall de få.
8 Ty jag, Herren, älskar det rätta
och hatar orättfärdigt rov.
Jag skall ge dem deras lön i trofasthet
och sluta ett evigt förbund med dem.
9 Deras släkte skall bli känt bland hednafolken,
deras avkomma bland folkslagen.
Alla som ser dem skall förstå
att de är släktet som Herren har välsignat.
10 Jag gläder mig storligen i Herren,
min själ fröjdar sig i min Gud,
ty han har klätt mig i frälsningens klädnad
och svept in mig i rättfärdighetens mantel,
lik en brudgum med högtidsbindeln på sitt huvud,
lik en brud som pryder sig med sina smycken.
11 Ty liksom jorden låter sina växter spira fram
och en trädgård låter sin sådd växa upp,
så skall Herren Herren låta rättfärdighet och lovsång
växa upp inför alla hednafolk.

61 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the Lord: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.
8 For I the Lord love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
9 And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the Lord hath blessed.
10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

61 “The (A)Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord (B)has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me (C)to [a]heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim (D)liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 (E)To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And (F)the day of vengeance of our God;
(G)To comfort all who mourn,
3 To [b]console those who mourn in Zion,
(H)To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;

And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion.

(R)And will make with them an everlasting covenant.
9 Their descendants shall be known among the Gentiles,
