The New Heaven and Earth

21 Then I saw ^(A)a new heaven and a new earth; for ^(B)the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. ² And I saw ^(C)the holy city, ^(D)new Jerusalem, ^(E)coming down out of heaven from God, ^(F)prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. ³ And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, ^(G)the tabernacle of God is among the people, and He will ^(H)dwell among them, and they shall be His ^[a]people, and God Himself will be among them^[b], ⁴ and He will ^(I)wipe away every tear from their eyes; and ^(J)there will no longer be any death; ^(K)there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; ^(L)the first things have passed away.”

^9 (A)Then one of the seven angels who had the ^(B)seven bowls, ^[a]full of the ^(C)seven last plagues, came and spoke with me, saying, “^(D)Come here, I will show you the ^(E)bride, the wife of the Lamb.”

The New Jerusalem

¹⁰ And ^(F)he carried me away ^[b](G)in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me ^(H)the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, ¹¹ having ^(I)the glory of God. Her ^[c]brilliance was like a very valuable stone, like a ^(J)stone of ^(K)crystal-clear jasper.

²² I saw ^(A)no ^[a]temple in it, for the ^(B)Lord God the Almighty and the ^(C)Lamb are its ^[b]temple. ²³ And the city ^(D)has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for ^(E)the glory of God has illuminated it, and its lamp is the ^(F)Lamb. ^24 (G)The nations will walk by its light, and the ^(H)kings of the earth ^[c]will bring their glory into it. ²⁵ In the daytime (for ^(I)there will be no night there) ^(J)its gates ^(K)will never be closed; ²⁶ and ^(L)they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it;

The River and the Tree of Life

22 And ^(A)he showed me a ^(B)river of the ^(C)water of life, ^[a]clear ^(D)as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of ^[b]the Lamb, ² in the middle of ^(E)its street. ^(F)On either side of the river was ^(G)the tree of life, bearing twelve ^[c]kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. ^3 (H)There will no longer be any curse; and ^(I)the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bond-servants will ^(J)serve Him; ⁴ they will ^(K)see His face, and His ^(L)name will be on their ^(M)foreheads. ⁵ And ^(N)there will no longer be any night; and they ^[d]will not have need ^(O)of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illuminate them; and they will ^(P)reign forever and ever.
