Isaiah 5:26-30
New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition
26 He will raise a signal for a nation far away
and whistle for a people at the ends of the earth.
Here they come, swiftly, speedily!(A)
27 None of them is weary; none stumbles;
none slumbers or sleeps;
not a loincloth is loose;
not a sandal strap broken;(B)
28 their arrows are sharp;
all their bows strung;
their horses’ hoofs seem like flint,
and their wheels like the whirlwind.(C)
29 Their roaring is like a lion;
like young lions they roar;
they growl and seize their prey;
they carry it off, and no one can rescue.(D)
30 They will roar over it on that day,
like the roaring of the sea.
And if one look to the land—
only darkness and distress;
and the light grows dark with its clouds.(E)

New American Standard Bible
26 He will also lift up a (A)flag to the distant [a]nation,
And (B)whistle for it (C)from the ends of the earth;
And behold, it will (D)come with speed swiftly.
27 (E)No one in it is tired or stumbles,
No one slumbers or sleeps;
Nor is the (F)undergarment at his waist loosened,
Nor his sandal strap broken.
28 [b](G)Its arrows are sharp and all its bows are bent;
The hoofs of its horses [c]seem like flint, and its chariot (H)wheels like a storm wind.
29 Its (I)roaring is like a lioness, and it roars like young lions;
It growls as it (J)seizes the prey
And carries it off with (K)no one to save it.
30 And it will (L)roar against it on that day like the roaring of the sea.
If one (M)looks across to the land, behold, there is darkness and distress;
Even the light is darkened by its clouds.
