24 Therefore, (A)as the tongue of fire devours the stubble,
    and as dry grass sinks down in the flame,
so (B)their root will be (C)as rottenness,
    and their blossom go up like dust;
for they have (D)rejected the law of the Lord of hosts,
    and have (E)despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
25 Therefore (F)the anger of the Lord was kindled against his people,
    and he stretched out his hand against them and struck them,
    and (G)the mountains quaked;
and their corpses were (H)as refuse
    in the midst of the streets.
(I)For all this his anger has not turned away,
    and his hand is stretched out still.

    and their blossom will go up like the dust.
For they have rejected the instruction of Yahweh of hosts,
    and they have treated the word of the holy one of Israel with contempt.
25 Therefore Yahweh’s wrath was kindled[a] against his people,
    and he stretched out his hand against them[b] and struck them,[c]
and the mountains quaked,
    and their corpses[d] were like refuse in the middle of the streets.

Yahweh’s Outstretched Hand

In all of this his anger has not turned back,
    and still his hand is stretched out.
