“Fear not, for you will (A)not be put to shame;
And do not feel humiliated, for you will not be disgraced;
But you will forget the (B)shame of your youth,
And no longer remember the (C)disgrace of your widowhood.
For your (D)husband is your Maker,
Whose name is the Lord of armies;
And your (E)Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel,
Who is called the (F)God of all the earth.
For the Lord has called you,
Like a wife (G)forsaken and grieved in spirit,
Even like a wife of one’s youth when she is rejected,”
Says your God.
[a]For a (H)brief moment I abandoned you,
But with great compassion I will (I)gather you.
In an [b](J)outburst of anger
I hid My face from you for a moment,
But with everlasting (K)favor I will (L)have compassion on you,”
Says the Lord your (M)Redeemer.

You must not fear, for you will not be ashamed,
    and you must not be confounded, for you will not feel abashed,
for you will forget the shame of your youth,
    and you will no longer remember the disgrace of your widowhood.
For your husband[a] is your maker,[b] his name is Yahweh of hosts;
    and your redeemer is the holy one of Israel, he is called the God of all of the earth.
For Yahweh has called you like a wife forsaken and hurt of spirit,
    like[c] the wife of childhood when she is rejected, says your God.
I abandoned you for a short[d] moment,
    but[e] I will gather you with great compassion.
I hid my face from you for a moment, in the flowing of anger,
    but[f] I will have compassion on you with everlasting faithfulness” says your redeemer, Yahweh.
