The Covenant of Peace

54 Sing, O barren,
    you who did not bear a child.
Break forth into singing and cry aloud,
    you who did not travail with child.
For more are the children of the desolate
    than the children of the married wife,
    says the Lord.
²Enlarge the place of your tent,
    and let them stretch out the curtains of your habitations;
    spare not,
lengthen your cords,
    and strengthen your stakes.
³For you shall spread out to the right hand and to the left,
    and your descendants shall inherit the nations
    and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.

⁴Do not fear, for you shall not be ashamed nor be humiliated;
    for you shall not be put to shame,
for you shall forget the shame of your youth
    and shall not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore.
⁵For your Maker is your husband,
    the Lord of Hosts is His name;
and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel;
    He shall be called the God of the whole earth.
⁶For the Lord has called you
    as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit,
and a wife of youth
    when you were refused, says your God.
⁷For a small moment I have forsaken you,
    but with great mercies I will gather you.
⁸In a little wrath
    I hid My face from you for a moment;
but with everlasting kindness
    I will have mercy on you,
    says the Lord your Redeemer.

⁹For this is as the waters of Noah to Me;
    for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no longer cover the earth,
so I have sworn that I would not be wrathful with you
    nor rebuke you.
¹⁰For the mountains may be removed,
    and the hills may shake,
but My kindness shall not depart from you,
    nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,
    says the Lord who has mercy on you.

¹¹O afflicted one, tossed with tempest and not comforted,
    I will lay your stones with fair colors
    and lay your foundations with sapphires.
¹²I will make your windows of agates,
    and your gates of crystal,
    and all your borders of precious stones.
¹³All your sons shall be taught of the Lord,
    and great shall be the peace of your sons.
¹⁴In righteousness you shall be established;
you shall be far from oppression,
    for you shall not fear,
and from terror,
    for it shall not come near you.
¹⁵Indeed they shall surely assail you fiercely, but not from Me.
    Whoever assails you shall fall for your sake.

¹⁶See, I have created the smith
    that blows the coals in the fire
    and who brings forth an instrument for his work;
and I have created the destroyer in order to cause ruin.
¹⁷    No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper,
    and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment, you shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
    and their vindication is from Me,
    says the Lord.

54 “你这不怀孕不生养的，要歌唱！你这未曾经过产难的，要发声歌唱，扬声欢呼！因为没有丈夫的，比有丈夫的儿女更多。”这是耶和华说的。 ²“要扩张你帐幕之地，张大你居所的幔子，不要限制；要放长你的绳子，坚固你的橛子。 ³因为你要向左向右开展，你的后裔必得多国为业，又使荒凉的城邑有人居住。

必脱患难恒受主恩

⁴“不要惧怕，因你必不致蒙羞；也不要抱愧，因你必不致受辱。你必忘记幼年的羞愧，不再记念你寡居的羞辱。 ⁵因为造你的是你的丈夫，万军之耶和华是他的名；救赎你的是以色列的圣者，他必称为全地之神。 ⁶耶和华召你，如召被离弃心中忧伤的妻，就是幼年所娶被弃的妻。”这是你神所说的。 ⁷“我离弃你不过片时，却要施大恩将你收回。 ⁸我的怒气涨溢，顷刻之间向你掩面，却要以永远的慈爱怜恤你。”这是耶和华你的救赎主说的。

⁹“这事在我好像挪亚的洪水，我怎样起誓不再使挪亚的洪水漫过遍地，我也照样起誓不再向你发怒，也不斥责你。 ¹⁰大山可以挪开，小山可以迁移，但我的慈爱必不离开你，我平安的约也不迁移。”这是怜恤你的耶和华说的。

因义坚立害莫能加

¹¹“你这受困苦、被风飘荡、不得安慰的人哪，我必以彩色安置你的石头，以蓝宝石立定你的根基。 ¹²又以红宝石造你的女墙，以红玉造你的城门，以宝石造你四围的边界^[a]。 ¹³你的儿女都要受耶和华的教训，你的儿女必大享平安。 ¹⁴你必因公义得坚立，必远离欺压，不致害怕。你必远离惊吓，惊吓必不临近你。 ¹⁵即或有人聚集，却不由于我，凡聚集攻击你的必因你仆倒^[b]。 ¹⁶吹嘘炭火，打造合用器械的铁匠，是我所造；残害人行毁灭的，也是我所造。 ¹⁷凡为攻击你造成的器械，必不利用；凡在审判时兴起用舌攻击你的，你必定他为有罪。这是耶和华仆人的产业，是他们从我所得的义。”这是耶和华说的。
