Isaiah 54:5-6
New American Standard Bible
5 For your (A)husband is your Maker,
Whose name is the Lord of armies;
And your (B)Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel,
Who is called the (C)God of all the earth.
6 For the Lord has called you,
Like a wife (D)forsaken and grieved in spirit,
Even like a wife of one’s youth when she is rejected,”
Says your God.
Isaiah 54:5-6
The Voice
5 Because the One who made you will be your husband;
the One called Commander of heavenly armies
Will set you right again, the Holy One of Israel.
It’s not for nothing that He is called “God of all the earth.”
6 For the Eternal has called you to come back home,
like a young wife, once deserted and deeply injured.
Now God is pulling you close again. Like a spouse forgives,
He will take you back and be reconciled.
The Eternal, your Redeemer, says this:
Isaiah 54:5-6
New English Translation
5 For your husband is the one who made you—
the Lord of Heaven’s Armies is his name.
He is your Protector,[a] the Holy One of Israel.[b]
He is called “God of the entire earth.”
6 “Indeed, the Lord will call you back
like a wife who has been abandoned and suffers from depression,[c]
like a young wife when she has been rejected,” says your God.
