Isaiah 53:3-7

³^(A)He was despised and rejected^[a] by men,
a man of sorrows^[b] and acquainted with^[c] grief;^[d]
and as one from whom men hide their faces^[e]
he was despised, and ^(B)we esteemed him not.

⁴^(C)Surely he has borne our griefs
    and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
    ^(D)smitten by God, and afflicted.
⁵^(E)But he was pierced for our transgressions;
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
    ^(F)and with his wounds we are healed.
⁶^(G)All we like sheep have gone astray;
    we have turned—every one—to his own way;
^(H)and the Lord has laid on him
    the iniquity of us all.

⁷He was oppressed, and he was afflicted,
    ^(I)yet he opened not his mouth;
^(J)like a ^(K)lamb that is led to the slaughter,
    and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent,
    so he opened not his mouth.
