Hope for Captive Zion

52 (A)Awake, awake,
Clothe yourself in your strength, O Zion;
Clothe yourself in your (B)glorious garments,
O Jerusalem, the (C)holy city;
For the uncircumcised and the (D)unclean
Will no longer come into you.
Shake yourself (E)from the dust, (F)rise up,
O captive Jerusalem;
(G)Loose yourself from the chains around your neck,
O captive daughter of Zion.

For thus says Yahweh, “You were (H)sold for nothing, and you will be (I)redeemed (J)without money.” For thus says Lord Yahweh, “My people (K)went down at the first into Egypt to sojourn there; then the Assyrian oppressed them without cause. So now, what do I have here,” declares Yahweh, “since My people have been taken away for nothing?” Yahweh declares, “Those who rule over them howl, and My (L)name is continually blasphemed all day long. Therefore My people shall (M)know My name; therefore in that day I am the one who is speaking, ‘Here I am.’”

How lovely on the mountains
Are the feet of him who proclaims (N)good news,
Who [a]announces [b]peace
And proclaims good news of good things,
Who [c]announces salvation,
And says to Zion, “Your (O)God [d]reigns!”
The voice of Your watchmen! They lift up their (P)voices;
They shout joyfully together;
For they will see [e]with their own eyes
When Yahweh returns to Zion.
(Q)Break forth, shout joyfully together,
You (R)waste places of Jerusalem;
For Yahweh has comforted His people;
He has (S)redeemed Jerusalem.
10 Yahweh has bared His holy (T)arm
In the sight of all the nations,
[f]That (U)all the ends of the earth may see
The salvation of our God.

11 (V)Depart, depart, go out from there,
(W)Touch nothing unclean;
Go out of the midst of her, (X)purify yourselves,
You who carry the vessels of Yahweh.
12 But you will not go out in (Y)haste,
Nor will you go as those who flee;
For (Z)Yahweh will go before you,
And (AA)the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

The Exalted Servant

13 Behold, My (AB)Servant will prosper;
He will be high and lifted up and [g]greatly (AC)exalted.
14 Just as many were appalled at you, My people,
So His (AD)appearance was marred more than any man
And His form more than the sons of men.
15 Thus He will (AE)sprinkle many nations,
Kings will (AF)shut their mouths on account of Him;
For (AG)what had not been told them they will see,
And what they had not heard they will understand.

The Lord's Coming Salvation

52 (A)Awake, awake,
    put on your strength, O Zion;
(B)put on your beautiful garments,
    O Jerusalem, (C)the holy city;
(D)for there shall no more come into you
    the uncircumcised and the unclean.
(E)Shake yourself from the dust and arise;
    be seated, O Jerusalem;
(F)loose the bonds from your neck,
    O captive daughter of Zion.

For thus says the Lord: (G)“You were sold for nothing, and (H)you shall be redeemed without money.” For thus says the Lord God: (I)“My people went down at the first into Egypt to sojourn there, and the Assyrian oppressed them for nothing.[a] Now therefore what have I here,” declares the Lord, “seeing that my people are taken away for nothing? Their rulers wail,” declares the Lord, “and (J)continually all the day my name is despised. Therefore my people shall know my name. (K)Therefore in that day they shall know that it is I who speak; here I am.”

(L)How beautiful upon the mountains
    are the feet of him who brings good news,
who publishes peace, (M)who brings good news of happiness,
    who publishes salvation,
    who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.”
The voice of (N)your watchmen—they lift up their voice;
    together they sing for joy;
(O)for eye to eye they see
    the return of the Lord to Zion.
(P)Break forth together into singing,
    (Q)you waste places of Jerusalem,
for (R)the Lord has comforted his people;
    he has redeemed Jerusalem.
10 (S)The Lord has bared his holy arm
    before the eyes of all the nations,
(T)and all the ends of the earth shall see
    the salvation of our God.

11 (U)Depart, depart, go out from there;
    touch no unclean thing;
go out from the midst of her; purify yourselves,
    (V)you who bear the vessels of the Lord.
12 For you shall not (W)go out in haste,
    and you shall not go in flight,
(X)for the Lord will go before you,
    (Y)and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

He Was Pierced for Our Transgressions

13 Behold, (Z)my servant shall act wisely;[b]
    he shall be high and lifted up,
    and shall be exalted.
14 As many were astonished at you—
    (AA)his appearance was so marred, beyond human semblance,
    and his form beyond that of the children of mankind—
15 so (AB)shall he sprinkle[c] many nations.
    (AC)Kings shall shut their mouths because of him,
(AD)for that which has not been told them they see,
    and that which they have not heard they understand.

Se anuncia la salvación de Israel

52 ¡Despierta! ¡Despierta!
    Vístete de fuerza, Sion,
ponte tus lindos vestidos,
    Jerusalén, ciudad santa.
Porque ya no serás ocupada
    por los incircuncisos[a] e impuros.
Sacúdete el polvo, ponte de pie,
    siéntate en tu trono, Jerusalén.
Desata las cadenas de tu cuello,
    Sion, hija encarcelada.

Porque esto es lo que dice el SEÑOR:
«Cuando fueron vendidos,
    nadie pagó nada por ustedes;
    ahora serán liberados sin pagar nada».

    No toquen nada impuro.
Ustedes, los que cargan los utensilios del SEÑOR,
    salgan por en medio, purifíquense.
12 Porque ustedes no saldrán de prisa,
    no huirán como fugitivos tratando de escapar.
El SEÑOR irá enfrente de ustedes;
    el Dios de Israel irá también detrás protegiéndolos.

El siervo sufrido del Señor

13 Miren, mi siervo tendrá éxito;
    se le dará el más alto honor.
14 Así como muchos se horrorizaron con él,
    pues su semblante estaba tan desfigurado
    y su forma apenas era la de un ser humano;
15 así también él asombrará a muchas naciones.
    Reyes se quedarán sin palabras por causa de él.
Porque verán lo que no se les había dicho
    y entenderán lo que no escucharon.

52 Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.

Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.

For thus saith the Lord, Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money.

For thus saith the Lord God, My people went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there; and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.

Now therefore, what have I here, saith the Lord, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the Lord; and my name continually every day is blasphemed.

Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I.

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the Lord shall bring again Zion.

Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the Lord hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.

10 The Lord hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

11 Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the Lord.

12 For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the Lord will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your reward.

13 Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.

14 As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:

15 So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.
