Do not touch anything unclean;
go out from her, purify yourselves,^(B)
you who carry the vessels of the Lord.

⁸ Escape from Babylon;^(A)
depart from the Chaldeans’ land.
Be like the rams that lead the flock.

⁶ Leave Babylon;^(A)
save your lives, each of you!^(B)
Don’t perish because of her guilt.
For this is the time of the Lord’s vengeance—
he will pay her what she deserves.^(C)

⁹ We tried to heal Babylon,
but she could not be healed.
Abandon her!
Let each of us go to his own land,^(A)
for her judgment extends to the sky
and reaches as far as the clouds.^(B)

⁴⁵ Come out from among her, my people!^(A)
Save your lives, each of you,^(B)
from the Lord’s burning anger.
