The Obedient Servant

⁹ Then the Lord reached out His hand, touched my mouth,^(A) and told me:

¹⁹ But when they hand you over, don’t worry about how or what you should speak.^(A) For you will be given what to say at that hour, ²⁰ because you are not speaking, but the Spirit^(B) of your Father is speaking through you.^(C)

¹¹ So when they arrest you and hand you over, don’t worry beforehand what you will say. On the contrary, whatever is given to you in that hour—say it. For it isn’t you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

¹¹ Whenever^(A) they bring you before synagogues and rulers and authorities,^(B) don’t worry^(C) about how you should defend^(D) yourselves or what you should say. ¹² For the Holy Spirit will teach you at that very hour what must be said.”^(E)

¹⁴ Therefore make up your minds^[a] not to prepare your defense ahead of time,^{(A) 15} for I will give you such words^[b](B) and a wisdom^(C) that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.^(D)
