¹⁵ “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
    and have no compassion on the child^(A) she has borne?
Though she may forget,
    I will not forget you!^(B)

¹³ As a mother comforts her child,^(A)
    so will I comfort^(B) you;
    and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.”

¹⁰ In a desert^(A) land he found him,
    in a barren and howling waste.^(B)
He shielded^(C) him and cared for him;
    he guarded him as the apple of his eye,^(D)
11 like an eagle that stirs up its nest
    and hovers over its young,^(E)
that spreads its wings to catch them
    and carries them aloft.^(F)
12 The Lord alone led^(G) him;^(H)
    no foreign god was with him.^(I)

¹³ He made him ride on the heights^(J) of the land
    and fed him with the fruit of the fields.
He nourished him with honey from the rock,^(K)
    and with oil^(L) from the flinty crag,
